- Now, you can add, edit, and remove information in Button. Add shortcuts, documentation, or best practices. Everyone’s edits are yours to use. Popular edits are listed by default, and you can swap to other edits as you like. Finally, your edits, favorites, and knowns are now automatically synced across all of your Macs.
- Editing, Crowdsourcing, and Auto Sync require a new subscription. Purchases of Button now include a one year subscription. Existing customers get one month free. After expiration, Button will still work wonderfully with the information you have. Subscription renewals will be available in Settings for $99.99 per year.
- Button now supports Apple silicon and Intel-based Macs. We’re sunsetting macOS El Capitan (10.11)—Button now requires a Mac with macOS Sierra (10.12) or later.

- Existing users are reporting an error that says “In-app purchase is not supported” when activating the new in-app purchases. We hope this update resolves the issue, but if it doesn’t, here’s a workaround: Delete Button from your Applications folder in Finder (requires your password, don’t delete it from launchpad or it’ll erase your favorites!), then reinstall Button from the Mac App Store. After this, you’ll be able to purchase without a problem. Thanks for your support guys! :)

- Button has changed quite a bit since it was launched from the back of a college lecture almost 3 years ago: we added the double-tap command hotkey to instantly show shortcuts for your current program, made favorites and knowns prioritize what you do and don't see first, and expanded program support from a meager 7 to over 140. None of this would've happened without the great convos we've had with many of you in that time, so genuinely, thank you.
- We recently realized that continuing to improve would become very difficult with the previous design. So we redesigned it from the ground up. We put search right up top for importance, made everything in the app searchable (shortcuts, programs, even settings), and moved shortcut details to a new panel to keep the list lean and mean while giving the details room to grow. This new version ultimately serves as a bridge to an exciting future ahead.
