Boxshot VR Changelog

What's new in Boxshot VR 1.5

Jan 11, 2016
  • The new version features animation speed parameters, click-based activation and better retina displays support on Mac OS X.
  • Added some new parameters to the export page of Boxshot VR:
  • Autoplay animation speed - you can configure the animation speed in turns per second;
  • Rotation speed - this helps you to control how fast is the object rotated when the use drags a mouse. Explained here in more details;
  • Activate by click - this helps to save some traffic, as VR object is not loaded automatically, so the user needs to click it first.
  • Improved the application look on OS X high-dpi retina displays.

New in Boxshot VR 1.4 (May 15, 2015)

  • This update brings some new (and old) features, which you may find useful: matrix resize, output resolution, auto-play and more. Read on for details.
  • Matrix dimension:
  • Boxshot VR allows you to change the number of rows and columns in your sequence, just do the right click on the first screen.
  • This is useful when your sequence has file names like 001.png, 002.png etc, but actually contains several rows of images. Boxshot VR loads such sequence as a single row, but now with the right-click menu you can easily re-shape the sequence the way you need.
  • Output options:
  • The "Export settings" screen got some new parameters.
  • Most of them speak for themselves, but one is worth explaining. By default Boxshot VR makes HTML objects of the fixed size: either the image size, or the one you set at the "Resize images" field. However, sometimes it is necessary for the HTML object to follow its container's size instead (on mobile sites, for instance). The "Responsive" box does exactly that. Check it to force the exported object to follow its parent's size.

New in Boxshot VR 1.3 (Dec 19, 2014)

  • First of all, we did a good job by re-arranging every single item of the user interface to make sure the application looks well on both Windows and Mac OS X. Everything should be aligned well and look perfect.
  • We also added the ability to specify an image file name prefix, so you can put several image sequences into the single folder. This is quite helpful when you use Adobe Muse or a similar site builder where all the asses have to live in the same folder.
  • The other small improvements we've made include image file names sanitizing, better OS X Yosemite support and adding the updates checking feature.

New in Boxshot VR 1.2 (Feb 4, 2014)

  • It's all about HTML5:
  • This version features a completely new VR engine that supports background loading and inertial rotation.
  • You can now customize the HTML title and we're going to add more customizable options in the future.
  • Boxshot VR engine is now more CMS-friendly and should work fine with WordPress and other content management systems.
  • Some of the features have been dropped with this release:
  • Boxshot VR doesn't re-scale or re-save images anymore. There are lot of image-optimization tools that you may use instead, if you like.
  • Boxshot VR does not support vertical wrap due to the low demand.
