Airlock Changelog

What's new in Airlock 1.5 Beta 1

Jul 26, 2010
  • New features:
  • By popular request, Airlock now has the ability to start the screen saver when it locks the screen.
  • Also by popular request, several of the dialogs that Airlock displays can be suppressed in the future by checking a checkbox in the dialog. The dialogs can be reset in the “Advanced” tab of the preference pane.
  • Lastly by popular request, while Airlock is running it now checks for new versions in the background and alerts you when a new version is available. (Airlock checks for an update every 24 hours by simply accessing this address.)
  • Bug fixes:
  • The Bluetooth keyboard/mouse connection-loss issue has been fixed. It's an issue that may require some tuning though, so please visit this discussion and let us know if Airlock still causes your Bluetooth peripherals to disconnect.
  • We've fixed a bug that caused the Airlock lock-screen to reject certain passwords when manually logging-in, typically when using non-US keyboard layouts.
  • The Airlock lock-screen now uses considerably less resources while it's running, and has been made more responsive in displaying the manual-login dialog when user activity occurs. (To completely minimize the CPU usage of the lock-screen, please see this article.)
  • We've fixed a bug that caused the switching of spaces to bypass the Airlock lock-screen.
  • A bug that prevented in-range/out-of-range actions from being executed when using a Finder-replacement (such as Path Finder) has been fixed.
  • A preference pane issue where multiple authentication windows were presented when a non-admin user attempted to change settings has been fixed.
  • Past versions of Airlock have spammed the system log with mentions of NSDocumentController and com.apple.pbs, Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds. These bugs have been fixed.
  • An intermittent memory leak in one of the background Airlock processes has been fixed. Under some circumstances this leak could snowball and degrade system performance.
  • In previous versions there were various issues with Airlock working properly on systems that use an LDAP server to manage user accounts. These bugs are believed to be fixed, but please let us know if you still experience issues.
  • In previous versions, rapidly changing settings in the Airlock preference pane could sometimes result in a dead-lock situation, where the preference pane would halt, as would the various background Airlock processes. This bug has been fixed.
  • Airlock has been updated to support newer-model iPhones, where older versions of Airlock would fail to find them in the device-selection sheet of the preference pane.

New in Airlock 1.0.1 (Dec 5, 2009)

  • This update addresses the following issues:
  • 1. Airlock is unable to detect certain newer-model iPhones in the iPhone-selection sheet within the Airlock preference pane.
  • 2. Under some conditions, Airlock is unable to detect a user's iPhone, with no dot appearing on the radar screen, and with the range indicator remaining black. (A consequence of this issue is the screen never locks, even when the iPhone is completely out-of-range, turned off, etc.)
  • This update does not fix Airlock's behavior in regard to wireless keyboards and mice loosing their connections. Please see the support section for more information.
