New in AddPDF 1.0.7 (Aug 20, 2011)

  • A new option has been added to Preferences named "Convert Files In Place." Select this option to create PDF file auto-conversions of images, RTFD, RTF, plain text, web archives, and mail messages (eml) files in the same folder as the original. Otherwise they will be created in a temporary files folder, to be deleted automatically. This option is ON by default.
  • The filenames of autoconverted PDF's retain the original image extensions in the filename of the generated PDF (which will have extension "pdf")
  • A new "spinner" activity monitor is displayed when auto-conversions of image and RTF text files is in progress.
  • When "Convert Files In Place" is OFF converted files by the same name are replaced, otherwise files by the same name are not replaced, and the existing PDF file is used.

New in AddPDF 1.0.6 (Aug 4, 2010)

  • Enhanced the automatic file conversions to include such types as RTFD, RTF, plain text, web archives, mail messages (eml). QuickLook previews of files are created when other conversions are not possible (on Mac OS 10.5 and above.) Automatic file conversion of images was introduced in version 1.0.4.
  • Extended the file types you can select for the list and stamp, and those that you can drop into the file list, in order to support the enhanced automatic file conversion.

New in AddPDF 1.0.5 (Jul 20, 2010)

  • Added a new column to the file list view that shows an icon for each file. On system 10.5 and above the icon is generated using QuickLook so that it is a true thumbnail of the PDFs content. On 10.4 the icon is the same as the Finder icon, which may be a custom icon. Resize the icon column width to adjust the size of the rows so that larger thumbnails will display.
  • The "delete" key can be used to delete selected items in the list. The "clear" button no longer acts on all items if none are selected: only selected are ever cleared.

New in AddPDF 1.0.4 (Jul 5, 2010)

  • Image support added. Images added to the file list, or selected as page "stamps," are automatically converted into single page PDF files in the same directory as the image, and named after the image. Images, like PDFs, can be added to the file list by dragging them from the Finder or using the new "Browse" button.
  • PDF splitting added. A new button named "Split PDFs" invokes a procedure which creates multiple single page PDF files for each page of every PDF file in the file list. You will be prompted for a name "prefix" for the generated files which will be appended by bracketed by suffixes of the form "[m, n]" where "m" is the PDF index, and "n" is the page index. Splitting supports stamps so that each single page PDf is stamped by the stamp file.
  • When adding or splitting PDFs you now have the option of setting the page size of every page or file to match the dimensions of the first page of the first PDF file, so that all pages are the same size. This option is selected in Preferences and is named "Restrict All Page Bounds To First PDF Page Bounds." This option is on by default.
  • When "stamping" pages by another PDF (which may be a PDF generated from an image automatically by the program) you have the option to scale the PDF so that it fits completely inside each page. Otherwise the stamp is merely centered over the page, which may result in cropping by the page bounds. This option is selected in Preferences and is named "Center Stamp Inside Page Bounds." This option is on by default.
  • When adding or splitting PDFs you have the option of only using the first page of every PDF file in the file list. This option is selected in Preferences and is named "First Page Only." This option is off by default.
  • New convenience buttons to clear the stamp and view the stamp have been added. As noted above stamps can be images which are automatically converted into PDFs for use by the program.
  • Multi-page stamp support when adding or splitting PDFs. The program will cycle through the stamps as pages in the multi-page PDF, in the order they appear in the PDF. Note that this enables you to combine two PDFs, overlaying one over the other, page by page, if both the PDF and the stamp PDF have the same length (otherwise there will be repetition.)

New in AddPDF 1.0.3 (Jun 11, 2010)

  • Added an option to Preferences to save the PDF file list and PDF stamp location. Both options are on by default.
  • Added an option to not preview the PDF pages as they are processed, which will result in much faster processing. This option is on by default.

  • Patched a memory leak.

New in AddPDF 1.0.1 (Mar 12, 2009)

  • Use the new "Stamp" button to select a PDF file to use as the watermark, and choose the transparency using the "Alpha" slider.
  • Only the first page is used as the watermark.
