- 1Blocker 4.0 for Mac adds a new Web Extension that can block ads on YouTube.
- The new Web Extension is optional, has no interface, and its purpose is to perform more advanced content blocking that the original Content Blocker API doesn't provide.
- Currently, the extension can remove ads on YouTube. But we'll expand its functionality in the future.
- You can activate the extension in Safari preferences → Extensions → 1Blocker Scripts. Make sure to give access to all sites (or at least to youtube.com)

- This update fixes a memory leak in Safari that’s somehow related to the monochrome icon we use for our toolbar button in Safari. Safari might be doing some unnecessary work while processing it, but it requires further investigation. We decided to revert to the default icon color set by Safari, at least until we figure out the root cause.
New in 1Blocker 3.11 (Nov 11, 2020)
- We are so excited to release this update with new widgets for macOS Big Sur. These widgets show you your blocking stats. They come in S/M/L sizes, support Light & Dark modes, and can be configured to display multiple intervals (today, this week, all time).
- This version of 1Blocker is also fully optimized for macOS Big Sur. Of course, we included an updated set of our built-in filters in this update, too.

- We made 1Blocker's toolbar button less distracting in the new Safari 14. It's more subtle in monochrome now instead of bright blue (your system's accent color). We also optimized the popover, so it should open a bit faster.

- 1Blocker 3.4 brings new blocking stats that you can access via our 1Blocker Button Safari extension. It’s a great way of visualizing how much tracking on sites there is nowadays. In addition to the blocked resources chart, it also shows the total number of blocked ads, trackers, and other resources.

- 1Blocker 3.3 brings new Pause Blocking mode, which allows you to temporarily pause all blocking on all websites. This new mode can be handy when you want turn off blocking but don’t feel like permanently adding that particular website to the Whitelist, or when you need to browse multiple sites without the blocker. To make it more convenient, we’ll automatically turn blocking back on after 60 minutes so you don’t forget to do so (of course you can also resume blocking at any moment manually).
- To access Pause Blocking, simply open 1Blocker Button in Safari’s toolbar and flip the switch. It’s that easy.

- 1Blocker version 3.1 brings various small improvements, adds Click Mode to the Visual Editor, and includes an updated set of rules.
- When you use our Visual Editor to hide a webpage element in Safari, you can now temporarily disable selection by activating Click Mode, which lets you perform click actions. For example, you can activate Click Mode to log in to your account, navigate to a different page or open a menu before selecting elements to hide.
