Slugline For Mac

Having to deal with all the demands of complex text editing suites while woking on a creative project can be a real nuisance. Slugline is a small Mac app designed to help you stay focused by eliminating all the unnecessary editing tools.

Working with Slugline is extremely straightforward: in the start-up panel you must decide if you want to work on a new screenplay or on an old project.

Either way, you will be directed to the app’s main window where you can start writing in no time: the document content will be the only difference.

If you decide to start a new project, you can open a clean document and start from scratch, or you can choose one of the 9 document templates that are included in the app: Blake Synder Beat Sheet, Adaptations Title Page, Three Act Structure (organized by percentage or pages - 90 pages, 96 pages, 100 pages, 120 pages).

Since the number of templates is not very large, you should open each one of them (there is no other way to preview their layout) and decide if there is one that suits your needs.

However, you can see how will your project look like when printed by pressing the “Preview” button placed in the bottom right corner of the main window.

Slugline includes basic tools when it comes to writing a script: you can add notes and specify if they should be omitted when printing, create dual dialogues settings, stress out the scene heading / transition / action, choose to have the scene headings in bold or underlined and more.
