NOTE: Vidrio Pro is now free to help users out during the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic.
When delivering a real-life presentation, pointing stuff out to your audience is pretty simple, and they can follow along easily. However, things get more complicated for remote presentations, or when you're trying to record a screencast.
Your webcam feed is usually relegated to a corner of the screen, where no one can glance without looking away from what you're trying to explain. Highlighting something is also difficult when all you've got to work with is a mouse cursor.
Vidrio changes all that — it captures your webcam feed and shows it on the entire screen, behind all your windows.
The advantages of merging your desktop and webcam feed become apparent right away. Everyone can watch you and your content at the same time, and presentations become much easier to follow.
The audience can see everything you're doing without taking their eyes off the content, and you can point things out the old-fashioned way — by actually pointing at them.
If you can't get enough of your rugged good looks, you can just use the app all the time. At the very least, you definitely won't have people sneaking up on you.
There are almost no settings to configure, other than the opacity of the webcam feed. If you have multiple cameras, you can also select which of them the app should use.
The hologram will be visible no matter what you are using to capture or share your desktop, so getting started could hardly be easier. Just launch Vidrio and use whatever recording or conferencing app you prefer.
Hotkeys are also supported, and they are fully customizable. They appear in the menu bar list, which you can consult at any time if you forget one of them.
Remote work can be challenging, especially for companies that normally rely on everyone being at the office, which isn't possible for now due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Vidrio does a brilliant job of making screencasts and live presentations more engaging, and the developer has even made it free while the world struggles with this pandemic.
