Flirc For Mac

Flirc is the companion utility for your Flirc device, a tool designed to enable you to quickly setup any remote controller device to be used with your Mac’s media center.

Moreover, the Flirc macOS application is not required to use your Flirc device, but you need it to map the keys.

The Flirc app offers you the possibility to pair the remote controller’s buttons with a keyboard key. This way, you will be able to pair your remote’s buttons with the media center keys and gain control without having to deal with different protocols.

You can choose to program the keys automatically by pressing the “Go” button in the Flirc main window: the setup wizard will take you through the necessary steps.

At the same time, you can choose to perform the mapping manually: click one of the virtual buttons in the Flirc main window and, once the button starts blinking, press a button on your remote. If the connection has been recorded successfully, you will receive a confirmation message.

The “Erase” button enables you to reverse the process: select a button in the Flirc main window, press the “Erase” button and then the assigned button on the remote controller. This should remove the connection: as usual, a notification will let you know if it worked.

Flirc offers a modern and intuitive interface for quickly setting up and mapping your remote’s buttons. Note that you only need to use the app to program the keys: after the initial configuration all you need is your Mac, your remote and the Flirc device.
