Cuprum For Mac

The Gerber image file format represents the standard when it comes to dealing with circuit board schemes. Cuprum offers you the possibility to view these Gerber files on your Mac, and can deal with multi-layered schemes.

The Cuprum user interface is represented by a single window where you can view the Gerber files. The app comes with a simple import button that helps you load the .art files, and also offers you the option to toggle the visibility of the layers panel.

Within the Cuprum Layers area, you get to see all the loaded .art files and decide if you want to see them in the central panel or not. You can assign a function for each image file and specify the attachment.

Cuprum provides support for the following layer functions: copper, soldermask, legend, goldmask, silvermask, tinmask, carbonmask, peel-off, viatenting, viafill, glue, keep-out, paste, heatsink, pads, scoring, plated, nonplated, profile, drillmap, assembly, mechanical, drawing, and other.

Cuprum integrates elementary zooming capabilities that can be activated via predefined keyboard shortcuts and also features side rulers sporting different measurement units: millimeters, mils, and inches.

You can save the current setup using a proprietary file format, or send the image directly to the printer. Naturally, you can also make use of the Print panel options to save the graphic to your drive without printing, as a PDF document.

Worth mentioning is that Cuprum will also install a QuickLook plug-in into your system, which means that you get to preview the Gerber files in the Finder. For the system change to take effect, you must either restart your computer or simply relaunch the Finder.
