Connect to an Active Directory domain and rely on the Kerberos authentication to access all related services, all from the comfort of your status bar. #Connect to AD #Active Directory domain #Get certificate #Connect #AD #Active Domain
NoMAD offers you the possibility to work with the Active Directory service created by Microsoft for the Windows networks on your Mac, without being limited in any way.
To be able to use the Active Directory credentials, NoMAD relies on the Kerberos service for the authentication procedures. However, the user gets to deal with everything via a status bar menu, without going through complex configuration processes.
Right off the bat, NoMAD presents you with the Preferences window where you must provide the Active Directory domain and the app will automatically generate the Kerberos realm.
The same area offers you the possibility to input an Active Directory certificate authority and the template you want to rely on. This way the app will be able to connect to the Windows Web Certificate Authorities and get a certificate for the currently connected user.
NoMAD allows you to make the Home folder visible, which will add a new Home SharePoint entry in the app’s menu so that you can connect to the folder shared via the Active Directory user profile with a mouse click.
NoMAD can save you credentials in the Keychain and renew the Kerberos tickets at a user defined interval, but once everything is setup, the utility is able to automate various tasks.
The NoMAD app can be configured to deliver access to self-service apps such as Casper, provides support for setting up Bomgar chat sessions, enables the user to push CLI commands, and so on.
Note that if the Active Directory domain account comes with a password expiration rule, NoMAD will display in the status bar icon how many days are left until you have to change it, and the exact date on mouse over.
NoMAD offers you the possibility to use the Kerberos authentication capabilities to connect to Active Directory domains and get certificates to be used with various types of services.
The NoMAD utility lets you know if your password has to be changed, can work with CLI commands, is able to launch self-service utilities, enables admins to setup specific LDAP servers, and so on.
