The Canon EOS Utility software collection is designed to facilitate the communication between your Canon camera and your Mac computer. As a result, after installing the included utilities, you will be able to transfer the captured videos or images in a more streamlined manner, to manipulate the camera’s settings, or to remotely control the device.

The EOS Utility Updater software package makes sure that the apps included in the EOS Utility collection (EOS Utility, EOS Viewer Utility, File Viewer Utility, and Camera Window DSLR) are updated to the latest version.

Of course, to be able to apply these patches, you must make sure that the Canon management solutions have been installed on your Mac beforehand. Note that you will be able to find the installer package on the CD drive that has accompanied your Canon product.

For your convenience, the EOS Utility Updater software collection comes with an installer package that will automatically deploy the patches: all you have to do is follow the onscreen instructions.

Upon launch, the installer will check if the EOS Utility apps are deployed on your Mac, and then offers to search on the CD if the software has not been found on your Mac. The whole procedure is fairly straightforward.

Each time you buy a new Canon camera, the product package will contain a CD disc that includes the firmware and companion software required to create a communication path between the device and your computer.
