Freedom For Mac

Freedom is a minimalist status bar application that helps you connect to the internet and apps blocking service and quickly start restricting your access to certain pages in an attempt to stay focused on your work.

To be able to get to the Freedom interface you need first to provide your credentials. Note that you can sign up for an account free of charge, but you need to opt for one of the supported subscription plans to use the service after the trial sessions.

Within the Freedom menu, you get to see all the devices connected to your account, select the blocklist you want to apply, start or even schedule a focus session.

Keep in mind that via the status bar menu you can only select predefined options: most of the configuration takes place in the Freedom web application. The app will only launch the appropriate pages in your default browser, where you must also be logged into your account.

The Freedom menu allows you to know if there are any focus sessions currently active and helps you start a new one in a matter of seconds: select the blocklist and the period and you are done.

When starting a new session, Freedom allows you to rely on predefined time presets but you can also create custom timers. The session cannot be stopped from the utility, but you can navigate to the Freedom web app and delete the timer altogether.

Other options include the possibility to also block the email and chat, so you can make sure you remain focused on your current project, and no one can disturb you.

Freedom offers you the possibility to block certain websites or apps in an attempt to prevent unwanted distractions to deter you from fully focusing on your work.

The Freedom service offers you the possibility to keep track of all your devices via the same web console and enables you to define custom block lists.
