Aura For Mac

Aura proposes an alternative solution for keeping an eye on all your Gmail accounts without having to deal with a full-featured email client.

You get to connect to as many Gmail accounts as you like, receive notifications about incoming messages, and switch to the web app in your default browser to read the entire message or perform other maintenance tasks.

Right off the bat, Aura prompts you to input the credentials for at least one Gmail account and allow the app to control it. Note that if you navigate to the app’s Preferences, you get to add as many accounts as you want.

Worth mentioning is that the Google login panel handles the procedure, so you need to specify you want to add a new account in both places.

At the same time, you have to be logged to all monitored accounts within the web browser if you want to be directed to the correct pages.

Aura also integrates with the macOS Notification Center, so you will receive an alert whenever a new message gets to any of your inboxes. The Aura status bar icon will also display an unread counter in case you miss the alerts.

Aura is intended just to let you know that there are unread messages in your inbox and help you access the appropriate web app panel without wasting any time. The same rule applies when wanting to compose a new email but keep in mind that it will always send you to the default account.

For your convenience, Aura allows you to configure a hotkey for toggling it’s panel’s visibility, can display alerts only for important emails, and comes with a dark mode that will make it easy on the eye at night.
