Clarify Language is a straightforward and user-friendly macOS application that aims to be the ultimate language and translation tool for your Mac by providing you with a large collection of bi- and monolingual dictionaries and useful translation features.
The first thing you need to know about Clarify Language is the fact that its immense language database is stored on a cloud server, therefore, you will need an internet connection in order to make the most of what it has to offer.
This, in term, can be either a bad thing or a very good one, depending on how you look at the situation. On one hand, being cloud based means that the application will not require large amounts of space on your Mac’s hard-drive and also that you cannot lose data if something unexpected might happen.
On the other hand, the downside is that you will always need an internet connection to access the dictionaries databases, and, possibly even worst is the fact that the cloud server might stop working, thus, interrupting the connection, which is exactly what happened during our test.
This said, Clarify Language comes with a user-friendly and intuitive interface that is simply represented by only three self-explanatory tab menus, namely Dictionaries, Translation, and Text to Speech.
With its impressive collection of more than six hundred and seventy dictionaries which cover thirty languages, Clarify enables you to translate words from and to Arabic, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Korean.
Taking all things into consideration, Clarify Language is a handy application to have on your Mac, especially if you are the type of person that works with translations on a daily basis. The only issue here is for you to see if Clarify’s cloud based databases suit your work style and needs or not.
