LineIn is a minimalist Mac OS X application designed to help you playthrough audio content captured by various input sources connected to your computer. Noteworthy is that LineIn also offers you the possibility to direct the audio to a specific output.
Due to its clean and organized user interface, finding your way around the LineIn application is extremely easy. In the LineIn main window you can easily select the input and output devices from drop down menus, and then press the “Pass Thru” button placed right beneath to launch the process.
Once the playthrough function is enabled, the LineIn app also allows you to visualize the activity on both the input and output channels in the bottom area of the app’s main window.
LineIn allows you to select the devices you want to employ by selecting the appropriate entry from a drop down menu, but also provides support for making more advanced settings. For both input and output devices you can specify which left and right channel should be used, and you can setup the buffering value.
For your convenience, via the LineIn Preferences window you can choose to have the app’s main window floating above all other utilities: this way, you will have access to its settings at all times, regardless on what you are working on.
