Why is it not compatible with the 4.3.3 version? What can I do?

i downloded the firmware but when i try to select it under the restore format on itunes it says that the firmware is not compatible. what do i need to do now?

I cannot review this because THERE IS NO IPSW FILE TO USE! I downloaded the iPod Touch 4.3.1 iOS file twice and followed the instructions. It says to pick the IPSW file, but where is it? It is not in any of the folders. The DMG programs don't work. Is there a youtube video to show exactly how you guys are accomplishing this download?

How to update / restore your iPhone/iPod using the downloaded IPSW file:

1. Download the firmware for your device
2. OPTION-click (on Macs) or SHIFT-click (on PCs) on the Update / Restore button in iTunes
3. Now you will be able to tell iTunes to use the IPSW file you downloaded to update / restore your iPhone/iPod

how can I install that??I downloaded it but I cant find the way to move it to itunes and update my ipod...

The new firmware/software has a lot of bugs. If you are using your device to connect to an in-car stereo with USB control, DO NOT upgrade to 4.1.

yesterday i installed a new software iOs 4, in my ipod version 3g and I have a problem with that, now I have a big iconos, what can i do?

i have a ipod touch 16gb an theres only software for the 10 gb verison ..dose it matter if i use the software for 10gb?

my clicks on my ipod are very low since i upgraded it to 3.1.2 what can i do

alright kids this is how to update your itouch/iphone. Make sure you have downloaded the correct file, if you have 1st gen the file name should be ipod1..... if its a 2nd gen or 3g, the extension should be ipod2 (I made this mistake). Open itunes, back-up you device. Close Itunes, then find the file you downloaded, double click on it, then itunes will open. Then hold shift and then restore and then select the file you downloaded. This worked for me and I hope it will for you. Enjoy

i downloaded the firmware 3.0 but it's not in one file. there's all these different files and some are different formats to ipod?? help!

umm i cant give a reveiw id like to but i can when i downloaded the firmware i went to itunes and held shift and click on both "update" and "restore" and a window pops up and says error firmware not compatible how do i fix this i would like to try 3.0 badly

i love it but these ratings were based on a jailbroken ipod touch but its decent all 3star on a non jailbreak but apple will push users to to buy new ones

I saved it to my desktop and tried to open but it says that the file may be incorrect or corrupted.

hey aj i dont know how to get the firmware 2.2 update on your ipod but i know how u can restore it back to its original firmware, just hold power button untile it turns off then hold down the home button and plug it up to a computer with itunes on it untile the plug up to itunes pic comes up then itunes shood say it has found a ipod in recovery mode then just hit restore dont hit shift+restore then it will ask if u want to search for the restore thing just hit yes and it should start downloading and automaticly restore it but it may not put 1.1.4 on it, it may put 1.1.5 on but at least you can use it again.

I just dont understand why it has got an unknown error occurred (1403) when I chose the file for my iPod.......PLEASE HELP ME!!!

i think you can restore it normaly by Itunes?! If you press only the restore button, what happens?

wish i could give a review but i seem to have problems updating to 2.2 My ipod was bought jailbroken version 1.1.4 and i was trying to go 2.2 in order to d/l google earth and other apps but when i hit shift+restore and selected the 2.2 file from this site it starts to extract but then says "unable to restore ipod 'ipod' error (5). Now i tried to restore regular settings but it wont do that either. i cant even get to the main screen on the itouch now its jus a pic of the white cable and a music icon.. Can someone pls help me out?!!?...thnx
