Virus Barrier x6 set's a new standard in antivirus protection for mac. I like the interface, and ease of use. But only if it was distributed as a free app, I would be glad to give the pricing valus as 5.

I use Internet Security X6 without any problem for 2 months. But starting today VirusBarrier X6 cause kernel panic almost every time I shut down my Macbook Pro.

Try uninstall and reinstall this software a couple of time. Same problem, kernel panic almpst every time I shut down my Mac. Also, it also cause invalid file count that cause verify disk fail in disk utiolity. I have to boot to sheel mode and use fsck -fy to solve disk structure problem

Why suddenly this software cause problem? Before problem. web threat pop up show that some IP want to do scan port. of my Mac. I blosk it.

From there on, kernel panic all the times.

I have found this easy and quick. Had trouble with iTunes at first. There is a custom setup (that does seem like a bit of work) that allows iTunes and other services to work OK with VirusBarrier. For me, as an occasional iTunes user, it was simply a matter of unchecking "Information Hiding" and "Cookie Filter" in VirusBarrier if I wanted to access iTunes. Remember to turn them back on again after you quit iTunes. For someone using iTunes on and off a lot, customizing the setup under "Firewall Rules" tab would be the way to go.
Virusbarrier X6 is an excellent product and I recommend it to any mac user :-)

Intego Developers = A+++ work!! This rendition of Virus Barrier is so packed full of VERY useful security items that work great together. Incorporating Net Barrier was a needed attachment to the new X6 version. Excellent design too!

The biggest thanks is to the high ups in Intego and the President of Intego who FINALLY lowered their pricing to a fair market price. Thank You!!!!! I bought a Family Pack because you were FAIR with your pricing.

Intego has been doing a great job at keeping up with new definitions with all the new Mac Trojans that are hitting the wild weekly. They are the first ones who and for the most part the ONLY ones who protect you from program vulnerabilities. I.E.... Adobe PDFs and Adobe Flash. None of the others seem to be "one top of it" like Intego seems too.

I would like to see a memory (ram) only scan button to scan for ram based malware at will. Having a CD (disk) base scanner as per Avira rescue disk taht can be downloaded and the daily definitions file could be downloaded and laid into memory or burned into the CD when making the boot disk scanner. It will be only time till the Mac will need this. Might as well get designing it into the Virusbarrier program and be ahead of the game.

Otherwise, Intego is the gold standard that other AV/anti-malware programs should be judged by. And for the guys who love ClamX AV, good luck on finding anything malware related to OS X. The Clam definitions team doesn't care about OS X malware and only has a couple of OS X malware definitions in it's capabilities. More less, next to worthless.

I have tested all of the Mac AV/Malware programs and Intego seems to be the best. It saved me from a Unix Arc Bomb trojan that tried to download through a bad i-frame redirect. This program almost instantaneously warns you of any test viruses that I have pulled onto my computer. Even keyloggers this AV was tops. It is what all others will be tested against. ClamXav has it's place for email, but in NO WAY can handle trojans and keyloggers like Intego or IAntivirus

Escuse me, but have you heard of ClamXav, which is designed fron the core to be fully compatible on a Mac, is Unix based FREE, and has everything i need.
Besides, the only way viruses can get on a mac is by:
    1. Autodownload on web browser, but I only use Safari and WebKit so i am istantly notified if i have an App downloading, i can scan it with ClamXav to see if it is a virus.
    2. Open ports, but that can't happen because i use the built-in firewall.
    3. E-mail links, but mail shows the extensions (mabey not for Apps) and if soeone sends me a suspiciouse file (eg. LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs.exe), i can scan it to see if it is a virus.
