    This is a simple little donationware that meets the need.

    It's not highly polished, but it's polished enough and it gets the job done. This is basically just hitting CMD+S at a time interval you can set (it defaults to 5 minutes). When the timer runs down, it seems to just hit the key combination. You can set it to only trigger if a certain app is on top.

    Finally I have "autosave" in Illustrator.

    just downloaded it. simple to use and does what it says. great little app..
