I am deliberately trying to take this down several notches in the ratings.. It's for the best, trust me. Apart from being extremely out of date, at best it was notably mediocre.. back in 2006. That's 6 years ago.. Sure, there's old hardware which stays the same, but it's not the same old internet.

If you have an old Mac, try TenFourFox:

    or Camino (has Flash support):

As a webdesigner you will also need Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8 and 9. ie4mac.com allows you to use these recent versions of IE, right on your development Mac.

    Cheers,

Since Youtubes recent change nothing works properly on the Mac anymore. the people there were saying it is some kind of bug but it has been a couple of months now and their seems no solution on the horizon except for their advice to download IE which from the sound of things does not work either. I think the solution is with youtube to go back to their old browser or loose all the Mac users.

If you need to connect to a microsoft server via remote web workplace you are out of luck unless you have a browser that needs active x. I bought a mac because it was a great product. My job uses microsoft, so what do you do?

I absolutely need IE 5.2.3 for my Mac OS X 10.6.2, to occasionally access some
information. I hate the ides - but have no choice.

What do I risk ? What should I do to protect myself?
    Thanks for helping.

I have a 2 GHx Intel Core Duo. Many of you do not recommend IE. But besides the Safari that comes with SnowLeopard 10.6.2 what other browsers besides FireFox, Camino, and SeaMonkey do you recommend? Thank you.

Why are people downloading this dreadful, outdated software? Have you not read the reviews? I'm just astonished. If you've just brought a Mac and think you need to. Can I just be very clear when I say "Not using IE on your Mac will be the single greatest reason for buying it"

The ONLY reason I can think of why anyone would this is to check how their webpages looks like in an old browser, but who uses old browsers anyway? If you have an Intel Mac, I would install Paralells or Crossover. Then you get a chance see your results in IE7.

IE for the Mac can't get hacked into that easy, the PC-version is another ball game! But avoid IE5 at all cost!

This is too old for newer macs. It was discontinued in 2001 by microsoft. If you use it you risk being hacked into. Its exploits were never patched by MS after it discontinued.
