Same story as most people on this.
Just does not work unless I'm missing something really basic.
    Waste of time.

The only thing I don't like is that you need the internet to read the file. I would like it better if it would create a Word Doc instead. Super easy to use though!

Worked great for me. Very fast. just grab the file on your desktop. Hit the dashboard key (F7 for me) and drag the file to the Drop Zone. A green plus sign will appear. Release the file and then the widget will start to work and produce a html file on your desktop. Open the html file and enjoy!

Just like everyone else says (well at least everyone over 12, apparently) this widget does not work. Yes, it creates an html document on your desktop; but, no, it does not convert any of the text you need it to. Waste of time. Do not think, like I foolishly did, that this will work for me because I know what I'm doing. I do and it didn't.

Does absolutely nothing - drop file on widget, 'working...' - then zilch. TextEdit will do this anyway.

You all are doing something wrong: I got it to work easily. Just start dragging your file, and then hit F13 or F12 until your dashboard shoes up. Put file on the widget, and a little green arrow pops up. Let go. It'll say 'working' and then stop. Leave dashboard, go to your desktop, and there is an htm file to click on that opens in your web browser which contains your content.

Not exactly rocket science people: I'm 12.

Well - even if you manage to dodge the bullet and get the files from desktop to dashboard - a feat in and of itself of mouse and keyboard dexterity - you drop the file to discover that it does... absolutely nothing... You can read the instructions over and over - or 15 times like I did to be certain you are not missing anything - and yet - follow thier guidelines and you see that this 'easy to use product' is nothing more than a waste of dashboard space, download bandwidth, sanity, and especialy the time it takes you to remove it from your system. (Which is yet ANOTHER feat of mental alacrity and prowess that I dare not even get into for fear of using very foul language.)

In short - you are better off to give yourself a facial with a cheeze grater than to use this program... That's my opinion and I am sticking to it!

Doesn't work - the output file says "Sorry, your file was unable to be converted (or was empty)" (multiple files, multiple attempts)

Did not work. Even after I figured out to start dragging, press F12, then drop on the widget, it just creates an htm file/ web page that said "Sorry, your file was unable to be converted (or was empty)," but I was able to convert the file on my PC at work with no problems.

...drag a file from its destination to the Dashboard?? When the Dashboard is active, the desktop isn't, and vice versa. Open the file from within the widget? How? What a ridiculous waste of time. Is there some reason they didn't just build a drag 'n' drop application and have done with it? I'm a busy man, and don't have time to play with toys like the Dashboard. I use it for the weather and the calculator. That's about it.

You are meant to start dragging then hit the F13 key (or whatever) to open the Widget, then keep dragging onto the widget.
    Can not get to work.
It looks like it is starting to work, the I just get a web page that opens
    saying \"not found\". WTF?
Am going to try NeoOffice (free app) apparently it will open/convert docx files.

Didn't work. It is impossible to drag a file into the widget docx converter, unless there is something we don't know. Help!

Ditto. Doesn\'t work. I tried the online version and the link I got emailed failed and I can\'t for the life of me figure out how to drag something to a widget. Hitting F12 while dragging as suggested doesn\'t work... at least on my machine.

Didn't work-- emailed a link that leads to Page Not Found.
They also claim 10,000 conversions a day, which seems awfully inflated for something that does not work. Don't waste your time (like I did).
