Scribe is a lightweight and intuitive Mac OS X application that can help you create outlines for your text, documents or plans with just a few keystrokes.

From Scribe’s simple and minimalist interface you can instantly start to make professional-looking outlines containing any number of items and sub-items that can be expanded or collapsed during your reading.

What is more, you can record audio as your type and synchronize it with the items in your outline. As a result, you can jump to any point in the text from any point in your recording and vice versa. To play a recording for the selected outline item, you just have to access the context menu and select “Play audio from selection”. You can view to what item a given audio point corresponds to.

Thanks to Scribe’s recording feature, you can take notes and record your courses at the same time, keep minutes in a meeting and even capture your own thoughts. You can play, pause and skim through the recording from the top toolbar.

By using Scribe, you can also make lists with checkboxes and sub-items in order to keep track of your completed and due tasks. To collapse or expand a sub-item you just have to click on the disclosure triangles next to each item and, once a task is completed, you can check its box and move to the next task..

Scribe comes with two themes that allow you to focus on your outline regardless of the lighting conditions and various font types along with numerous menu styles that will make sure your outline is eye-catching and easy-to-read. Scribe features autosave and versioning support, multiple outline symbol formats, OPML support and allows you to export your outline to RTF and TXT files.
