Google Mail Checker For Mac

Google Mail Checker is a small Chrome add-on that integrates with the browser and offers you the possibility to see if there are any unread messages in your Gmail Inbox. The add-on also provides quick access to the Gmail web app.

To install the Google Mail Checker add-on, you need to navigate in the host application to the appropriate Chrome Store entry and press the “Add to Chrome” button that you can find on the page.

Google Mail Checker will place its icon next to the address bar almost instantly: the graphic comes with a counter that lets you know how many unread emails are currently waiting in your Gmail Inbox.

Naturally, for the add-on to work you need to be logged to at least one Gmail account. However, if you work with multiple accounts, the Google Mail Checker counter will display data only for the account that has been connected first.

Google Mail Checker comes with very limited functionalities, but if you click on its icon, it will launch the Gmail web app in a separate tab so you can go ahead and read or manage the messages.

Worth mentioning is that Google Mail Checker comes with support for using keyboard shortcuts and you can easily assign one to the add-on via the Chrome Extensions panel.
