Resize! For Mac

Resize! is a minimalist Mac OS X application that offers you the possibility to batch resize multiple images by applying different methods. The app does not allow you to see the files that will or have been processed within its interface, but will work with all the image files included in a user specified folder, and will create a new directory in the same location for the output files.

The Resize! user interface is represented by a single window where you can specify the source image folder: simply make sure that all the images you want to resize are contained in that directory. At the same time, you can easily choose the resizing method by checking the appropriate button: proportional resizing, box resizing, or independent resizing.

You have the option to specify the output file format: PNG or JPEG. In the latter case, you can also adjust the image quality (excellent, good, decent, low, or custom). Other customization options include the possibility to automatically increase the picture size if needed, or to make the file name web ready.

If you are using the proportional resizing method, Resize! will preserve the proportion of your photos, while adjusting the size by different criteria: biggest, smallest, width, height, or percent. In each case, you must provide a numerical value, and Resize! will apply it to the specified parameter.

You can provide the absolute width and height values for the output image (box resizing) and Resize! will make sure they fit in while keeping the proportion. Lastly, when employing the independent resizing method, the pictures will be adjusted to the specified width and height, but the proportions will be changed.
