VisualHub For Mac

VisualHub is a minimalist yet versatile video conversion tool designed to help you convert media between different popular file formats without too much hustle.

The VisualHub project is no longer under development, but the latest patch provides compatibility support for Mac OS X 10.7, and removes the trial limitations (you will not need a registration code anymore).

Before installing the VisualHub app to your Mac (simply drag and drop the utility’s icon to the Applications directory), you must run the FFMPEG installer that is offered as an additional download. The next step is to apply the Lion updater in order to make the most out of the app on more recent OS X releases.

Thanks to its well organized user interface, converting movie files with VisualHub is quite easy: import the videos you want to process (via the built-in menu or with a drag and drop), select the output format and location, and then simply press the “Start” button. VisualHub allows you to merge the videos together.

VisualHub enables you to convert videos to iTunes or PSP supported formats, to DV, DVD, AVI, MP4, WMV, MPEG, or Flash. Depending on the format, you can adjust the output quality, and other parameters.

VisualHub is a great tool to have around if you want to make your videos compatible with other devices without having to deal with a complex workflow. Nonetheless, if running the utility on OS X versions newer than Lion, make sure to check if the videos have been converted correctly.
