LaCie Silverkeeper offers you the possibility to effortlessly backup your important files periodically by copying them to a storage device connected to your Mac. Since the app allows you to schedule automatic backups, after the initial setup, no other user interaction is required.

Even though LaCie Silverkeeper in no longer under development, the application still runs on the most recent OS X systems (including Yosemite), and can backup, synchronize, or compare folders automatically.

LaCie Silverkeeper allows you to manually setup and schedule backup sets, but also includes a Setup Assistant that can take you through more complex configurations: you can backup your entire system to a bootable disk, you can backup all user accounts on the system, or only the currently active one.

Manually handling the backup for your files and folders is a very counter productive practice: you can use LaCie Silverkeeper to schedule the transfers at a specific date and time, or you can launch the process at login.

Moreover, LaCie Silverkeeper also enables you to compare the backups, to synchronize the folders, or to restore the backup to the original location. Note that LaCie Silverkeeper will copy all the files to the backup drive only the first time: on the next run, the app will transfer only the new or changes files.

LaCie Silverkeeper proposes and automated solution for backing up data stored on your Mac to an external drive: you can transfer the entire volume, all user accounts or only the currently active one, or you can define custom backup sets. Additional features include the possibility to schedule automated backup, or to synchronize or compare backups.
