We all use alarm clocks to wake up in the morning or to remind yourself of something we have to do. There are a myriad of applications specially made to do the job, but not all of them allow us to choose to which tune we want to wake up. Alarm Clock is the Dashboard widget designed to solve this problem.

Alarm Clock is a well-designed and user-friendly Dashboard widget that will help you set-up an alarm and use iTunes to play a song instead of loud alarm sound.

The widget enables you to choose an iTunes playlist and set the time at which you want to start playing. Alarm Clock will start playing the playlist of your choice at the given time while slowly and gradually turning up the volume.

Alarm Clock is distributed in a lightweight ZIP archive. The installation process is pretty straightforward, just unarchive the widget, double click on the icon and confirm that you want to install the app when the Widget Installer dialog asks.

From the Widget Manager you can add Alarm Clock to your Mac's Dashboard with just a mouse click.

Alarm Clock features a simple and intuitive interface from which you can easily set the alarm clock by clicking on the each digit until you reach the desired number. To enable or disable the alarm you just have to click on the Ring Bell icon.

The back of the widget enables you to choose a playlist from the predefined list and adjust the sound level of the alarm. From here you also have access to all your iTunes playlists.

Alarm Clock will recover after a restart and it trigger immediately if the widget wasn't running at the time of an earlier set alarm.

Unfortunately, Alarm Clock does not support powering or waking up the Mac and, as a result, it ca be used only if you leave your computer on overnight.
