January 4th, 2011· This update is all about video conversions. Some users complained about failed conversions so we have listened and made lots of improvements.
· Basically, a lot of issues are related to QuickTime X. We do no longer recommend using QuickTime X for video conversions.
· If VideoDrive finds QuickTime 7 on your system, it will use that as it is far more reliable. But for those who still prefer QuickTime X, we have improved reliability for several file formats. Another issue was speed: QuickTime is not that fast.
· In fact, QuickTime X can be horribly slow with some conversions taking up to 10 hours. Therefore support was added for HandBrake, which converts video much much faster! Simply download HandBrakeCLI (both 32bit and 64bit versions are supported) into your Applications or Utilities folder and switch the flip in the Import Preferences panel of VideoDrive.

July 21st, 2008· Added Feature: it is now possible to switch on and off SRT subtitles in videos. Simply select one more more videos in iTunes and click the Toggle Subtitles button.
· Added Feature: VideoDrive can now display SRT subtitles in Leopard Front Row. Due to incompatibilities between Mac OS X Leopard Front Row (versions 10.5 until 10.5.4) and Perian, videos with SRT subtitles could not be played correctly in Front Row: as soon as subtitles appear, the screen goes black. A new VideoDrive option allows to force playback of subtitles in Leopard Front Row. Simply select one more more videos in iTunes and click the Toggle Subtitles button and check the new option. Note that this workaround may cause playback issues in iTunes for the selected videos. To restore iTunes playback, uncheck the option again.
· Added Feature: VideoDrive can now sync and stream incompatible videos to AppleTV. If you have enhanced your AppleTV device by adding additional codecs, all videos imported with VideoDrive in iTunes can be synced and streamed to AppleTV without reconversion.
