  • Concelebration: the Order of Mass can now include markers to show which celebrant should be saying which part of the Eucharistic Prayer. These markers appear if you turn on "Priest's Private Prayers" in the Settings.
  • Commons: the "Special" button in the calendar window now gives you access to the Common of Martyrs, the Common of Apostles, and so on.

  • In the Invitatory Psalm, you can now choose whether to have the antiphon at the beginning of the psalm only, or at the beginning and end, or between each verse. To make this choice, click on the menu button next to the “Introduction (with Invitatory)” heading.

  • At the end of the Readings at Mass page we are often able to show you the longer passages from which the actual Mass readings are taken. This lets you study them better in their original context.

  • If you are reading the Hours on your own, you may find the new "Study Hymns" option interesting. It gives you the Latin text of the official hymn for the Hour, with a literal English translation next to it so that you can understand the Latin. There is also a short commentary. You will see a menu button for this, next to the hymn heading.

  • Psalm-prayers are now included after the psalms in the Liturgy of the Hours; but if you find them to be a distraction, you can turn them off in the Settings.
  • If you are using the Latin-English version of the Order of Mass, you will now also get parallel Latin-English versions of the prayers and antiphons of the Mass.
  • In foreign-language Orders of Mass, the Setswana has been updated and a preliminary version of Irish (Gaelic) has been added.

  • In the Office of Readings, there is a new option button next to the First Reading, letting you use the two-year cycle of readings rather than the one-year cycle from the printed books. The two-year cycle was promised when the Liturgy of the Hours was revised in 1970, but it was found to be too expensive to print. Even if you're not interested in the rest of the Office of Readings, why not make a point of reading the First Reading each day? It is a wonderful resource.

  • For all users – When you changed from one Hour to another, Universalis moved its window to a fixed size and place on the screen, which was irritating. It doesn't do this any more.
  • For users of Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) – Universalis crashed when you opened it, which was maddening. It doesn't do this any more.
