What's new in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.23.3

- In this version we updated Apple APFS module to support "release" version of APFS file system. The software will provide file system access to read files from consistent file system and to recover files from RAID storages with this file system.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.23.1 (Sep 8, 2017)
- This update adds support of file compression on Btrfs file system to UFS Explorer software. UFS Explorer Professional Recovery and Standard Access also receive read support for new VMFS6 file system (available since VMware ESX version 6).
- Scan procedures for both Btrfs and VMFS6 are still only available in version 6 (Recovery Explorer) software.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.22.1 (Apr 2, 2017)
- UFS Explorer version 5.22.1 is released as ordinary update, addressing several issues and extending support camera-raw photo formats by embedded viewer.
- Additionally, this software version implements basic "read" support of new, experimental, Apple APFS file system.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.22 (Jan 20, 2017)
- Supports data recovery from thin-provisioned LVM2 volumes: the volume can be opened and operated as "virtual disk" storage.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.21 (Dec 12, 2016)
- This update introduces "Viewer" tool in all editions of UFS Explorer software. Starting from version 5.21 it is possible to evaluate data quality before starting recovery or purchasing license by revising contents of pictures or digital photos of most popular formats (including camera RAW formats).
- It is planned to extend set of supported formats in the future software releases.
- Among other modifications there are:
- Revised software installation policy: now software is installed via single installer for 32 or 64 bit OS with automatic software selection;
- Introduced software installer for Linux and Mac OS software versions;
- Introduced Linux software version with no installer at all and no installation requirements (just to unpack from archive and run);
- Software comes with "SDL Software Manager" to keep track of software updates (updates are still free within same major version 5.x);
- Windows version of UFS Explorer Professional Recovery comes with updated registration codes: please request registration code update via our web site.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.20.3 (Sep 23, 2016)
- Support of network shared folders connected under privileged/non-privileged user account contexts of Windows 10 with enabled UAC;
- Recovery editions of UFS Explorer now have better chances to retrieve good data with IntelliRAW scan.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.20.2 (Sep 9, 2016)
- Several modifications, mostly related to software optimization:
- Modified disk data caching algorithm for faster data copying from RAIDs with small sector size;
- Fixed problem of recognition of disks, connected via certain USB adaptors (when sector size is converted to 4KB).
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.20 (Apr 26, 2016)
- Support of Apple file Extended Attributes and Resource Forks. When copying of extended attributes is enabled (by default), the software restores file tags, associations and other custom attributes. This function is available under Mac OS X via native API and under Windows/Linux by means of support of .AppleDouble extended attribute format.
- Glyphs pre-composition. Apple Mac OS X does not support so-called "composed glyphs" (such as certain Kanji or umlauts, formed by base symbol and "accent modifier" symbol). When copying data across operating systems, using of composed glyphs may cause issues with access to file system under Mac OS. Starting from this version, UFS Explorer replaces "composed" symbol sequences with "pre-composed" characters.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.18.5 (Jan 12, 2016)
- Among recent modifications are:
- In RAID Builder: parameters for RAID6 Compact Left Symmetric rotation are now default to ARECA RAID controller;
- In RAID detection tool: support of mdadm metadata at non-standard offsets;
- In GPT: better support of disks with 4K sectors.
- Among problem fixes:
- Fixed RAID builder GUI in part of RAID6 advanced settings (when doing recovery with two missing drives);
- Fixed issues with GPT module when partition address is incorrect;
- Fixed "missing symbols" issue for extended Unicode;
- Fixed issue with detection of current file system type after format of ExFAT to FAT32.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.18.1 (Nov 9, 2015)
- Address issues detected after launching support of Btrfs file system. Particularly, when RAID volume was formatted with Btrfs and contained millions of files, this caused significant performance penalty because of high level of internal storage layout segmentation. With this update was applied different approach of handling this kind of storage that saved much resource and made it work much faster.
- We have also noticed that UFS Explorer did not support Meta-Group Descriptor feature of Ext3/Ext4 file systems. Starting of version 5.18.1 this feature is also supported in all software editions.

- "Read" support for Btrfs formatted volumes;

- Fixed issue with recognition of virtual disk size of Hyper-V virtual disks (VHD) with format version 6.x;
- Fixed size of files recovered from XFS and HFS+ file system in certain scenarios (because of incorrect size, the files were padded with zeros to whole cluster boundaries);
- Fixed licensing issue for ExFAT file system in Standard Recovery/Raise Data Recovery software family.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.17 (Jan 26, 2015)
- This release is mostly related to upgrade of SGI XFS file system support. If you are using the software with CRC-enabled XFS, it is recommended to update your software to latest version.
- Among other modifications there are:
- fixed problem causing software crash when operated with path bar in certain scenarios;
- fixed issue with incorrect detection of EXT4 file system size for scan when file system size is over 16TB;
- fixed certain user interface related issues.
New in UFS Explorer Professional Recovery 5.15.2 (Jul 30, 2014)
- This update is considered as minor, however it adds valuable features, related to Windows dynamic disks. Starting version 5.15.2 all software editions support dynamic disks over GPT that resolve partition identification issues on big drives.
- The other function is better support of NT LDM metadata to properly handle "generic" volumes, including "simple", "mirror" and "spanned" volumes. Support of "stripe" and "RAID5" remains unchanged.
