    TabView 2.3 - Changelog

    What's new in TabView 2.3:

    March 23rd, 2012

    · Fret numbers are written on a white background, making the tablature easier to read.
    · Improved the quality of prints.

    What's new in TabView 2.2:

    February 8th, 2012

    · MIDI playback: play legato slides without striking the second note.

    What's new in TabView 2.1:

    October 27th, 2011

    · In some cases, when using the metronome intro, "Play from Selection" would start only after a long delay. It's been fixed.

    What's new in TabView 2.0:

    September 10th, 2011

    · Added support for full screen on Lion.
    · Added a new side-by-side view which automatically kicks in when the document window is enlarged enough to fit two pages in width. It’s ideal for those using HD resolutions (ie. latest iMacs or Mac Book Pro’s).
    · Improved rendering performances in some cases.
    · Updated the Apple Remote code to work with Lion too.
    · Added 64-bit support.

    What's new in TabView 1.39:

    June 20th, 2011

    · Adds a “zoom” function, just like the one available in Tablatures, its big brother.

    What's new in TabView 1.38:

    May 31st, 2011

    · This version contains only some minor bugfixes. Oh, and a revamped icon.

    What's new in TabView 1.37:

    December 11th, 2010

    · The play rate slider in the toolbar shows the scaling factor too. Also, it’s possible to click on the percentage to edit the value manually.

    What's new in TabView 1.36:

    October 12th, 2010

    · Print has been tweaked to exploit the full printable area (less white margin).
    · Improved rendering of floating texts.
    · Improved rendering of hammer-on/pull-off ties.

    What's new in TabView 1.35:

    July 7th, 2010

    · A minor update for TabView is now ready for download.

    What's new in TabView 1.34:

    April 26th, 2010

    · Improves the rendering of tie arcs in the standard notation so that they never overlap.

    What's new in TabView 1.33:

    April 9th, 2010

    · Standard notation: use the same algorithm implemented in Tablatures to decide the direction of note flags

    What's new in TabView 1.32:

    February 1st, 2010

    · This release improves the stability during MIDI playback, by fixing a couple of issues that were reported by users.

    What's new in TabView 1.31:

    November 23rd, 2009

    · A Preferences window has been added.
    · You can now choose which score to see by default (if empty, TabView will display the other one anyway) and which score to mute by default.
    · This change should please bass players, who can now set TabView to display the bass score and mute the guitar score by default.

    What's new in TabView 1.30:

    October 30th, 2009

    · In this version, the tempo slider can be used to speed the song up too (up to 2x faster than the tempo set in the document).

    What's new in TabView 1.29:

    July 15th, 2009

    · When Metronome Intro was enabled, the bass score was active and you choose to start playing from a bar that didn't exist in the guitar score (because it was shorter than the bass one), a crash occurred. Fixed.
    · MIDI playback: fixed a crash that occurred with scores incorrectly containing Guitar In symbols for non-defined guitars.

    What's new in TabView 1.28:

    June 30th, 2009

    · Fixes a race condition that could trigger a crash if you changed Display Mode while playing a tab.
    · Also, as it happened with our other products, support for Mac OS X 10.3 has been dropped, thus allowing to clean the code up a bit by removing workaround for 10.3 bugs.

    What's new in TabView 1.27:

    June 9th, 2009

    · Fixes a possible crash that happened with some tablatures when trying to play them or convert them to MIDI files.

    What's new in TabView 1.26:

    March 23rd, 2009

    · Rhythm slash: fixed a rendering bug involving beamings of 16th notes.
    · Display an error dialog in case the required system fonts cannot be opened.

    What's new in TabView 1.25:

    January 19th, 2009

    · Adds an useful feature for your practice sessions: "Play Selection". As the name implies, it plays the selected part of the tablature, then it stops, so you can immediately practice it on your guitar.

    What's new in TabView 1.24:

    November 17th, 2008

    · Fixes a problem with certain tabs that were causing TabView to crash.

    What's new in TabView 1.23:

    November 5th, 2008

    · Adds an option to mute either the guitar or the bass score (see the MIDI -> Mute menu) to help you with your practice.

    What's new in TabView 1.22:

    August 12th, 2008

    · MIDI playback: when a repeat end bar line is encountered, its repeat count value is ignored if there are alternate endings in the bar. This behaviour is similar to that of PowerTabEditor.
    · Added a keyboard shortcut to start playing from the selection: shift spacebar.
    · MIDI playback: added an option to start with a metronome intro (MIDI -> Metronome Intro).

    What's new in TabView 1.21:

    July 24th, 2008

    · In this version, MIDI playback can be paused.
    · A Pause button is available among those that can be added to the toolbar.

    What's new in TabView 1.20:

    May 22nd, 2008

    · Fixed "Play from selection" to work correctly in presence of repeated sections.

    What's new in TabView 1.19:

    March 19th, 2008

    · Updated the Apple Remote functions to support Leopard.
    · Added a couple of keyboard shortcuts to control MIDI playback: the spacebar will start or stop the playback from the start, while the return key will loop the current selection.

    What's new in TabView 1.18:

    January 4th, 2008

    · Fixed a print problem that happened on Leopard when the print dialog was showing the page thumbnail.
    · MIDI export created unreadable files on several OS X versions due to a bug in a system function*. A different way to perform the same operation has been implemented in order to work around the problem.

    What's new in TabView 1.17:

    December 4th, 2007

    · Fixed the way accidentals are rendered.
    · When opening a document, if the guitar score is totally empty, the bass score will be automatically displayed.
    · Bar numbers at the beginning of the system take multibar rests into account.

    What's new in TabView 1.15:

    September 19th, 2007

    · This version includes a couple of rendering fixes, and two new features.
    · You can now decide whether to view tabs in the normal way (that is, as in the previous releases), to view only the tablature staff or to view only the standard notation.
    · Also, TabView now includes a Spotlight plugin which allows you to search through your tabs collection more easily.
