New in SugarSync 1.9.42 (Jan 10, 2012)

  • Protection against deletion of data synced from unsupported drives. Changes in this release prevent the deletion of data synced from unsupported drives, including external, removable, and encrypted drives. If a drive is unavailable when SugarSync launches, folders synced from that drive will now become disconnected. To sync this data, you can simply reconnect the folder to a location on your internal drive. Note that data in disconnected folders is completely safe in the cloud, and therefore counts against your quota.
  • If you remove or disconnect a drive while SugarSync is running, your data will remain in the cloud, but you won't be able to make changes to it, nor will you be able to sync it.
  • NOTE: Syncing is only supported from internal drives in a computer. Syncing from external or removable drives is not supported and can cause data loss.

New in SugarSync 1.1.10 (Aug 16, 2008)

  • SugarSync will now let you access previous versions of your files starting with this release. This has been a popular feature request and we're excited to be able to offer it free of any additional charge. Just select the new "Versions" command for a given file (right click menu in SugarSync Manager and left click command in the website file manager) and this will bring up a list of previous versions that you can view or save into the current folder.
  • We have added a feature that makes it much easier for you to restore deleted files. Previously, if you wanted to retrieve a file that you had deleted, you had to look in the "Deleted Files" folder which can quickly become filled with so many items that it becomes unmanageable. Now you can click "Show deleted items" from any folder to view previously deleted files and folders inline.
  • Another significant improvement is that folders retain their hierarchy when they are deleted from your computer. Previously, if you deleted a folder containing subfolders from your computer, all the folders would appear as a flat list in Deleted Files. Now deleted folders and subfolders maintain their structure under Deleted Files making it much easier for you to restore folders properly.
  • Mac: you will notice that SugarSync Manager on the Mac has a much improved look and feel using native looking buttons and controls. We also made a number of other improvements such as how the application interacts with the dock and the SugarSync icon in the top right menu bar.
  • Your personal Web site now includes a new home tab. This page includes a variety of useful information such as a list of recent activity in your account including files that you have recently added, edited or shared. The page also has shortcuts to access your computers and links to popular tutorials and general useful information about the product and your account.

New in SugarSync 1.1.8 (Jul 9, 2008)

  • You will see two new buttons in the SugarSync Manager: one to send large files and another to share photo albums. Any folder in SugarSync that contains photos (jpegs) will automatically appear in your online photo gallery. By clicking the "Share Album" button, you can now easily send any album to your friends and family.
  • The system tray icon at the lower right on Windows and the upper right on the Mac provides some feedback when SugarSync is uploading or downloading files.
  • Fixed a bug where backing up a Quickbooks file to a folder being monitored by SugarSync did not work properly.
  • Fixed a bug where restoring a Quickbooks backup file was getting stuck pending uploading.
  • When you right click a file and "Show in Windows Explorer" or "Find in Finder" it will now select the appropriate file.
  • You can send a large file from your personal website by selecting a file and clicking the "Send File" button in the toolbar.
  • You will now see the time zone next to a files date and time to help distinguish which files are more recent than others.
  • In the photo gallery, when you enter an album you will see a link at the top left to go "Back to My Albums". This makes it easier to keep your place while you are navigating through multiple pages of albums. Previously, we took you back to the first page of your albums and reset the sort order when clicking this link. Now we will take you back to the page you were browsing.
  • If you would like to delete an unwanted computer from your account, you can contact customer support and they can remove it for you.
