  • Critical fix for app hanging at launch if there are more than 10 recent files.

New in Pro Player 2.2 (Sep 3, 2016)

  • Fixed bug with error messages shown if recent file or desktop file is on network drive that is no longer mounted.
  • Fixed bug where the same file could be added multiple times to the recent files list and menu.
  • When opening a file from Finder, Pro Player now goes direct to player mode rather than first showing a short flash of browser mode.
  • Favorite folders that aren't currently mounted are now hidden.

New in Pro Player 2.1 (Jan 31, 2016)

  • Current time display is now copied to clipboard, so it can be pasted into text fields of other applications.
  • Reverted to a paid app. If you downloaded version 2.0, 2.0.1 or 2.0.2, you will still be able to do an in-app purchase to get all the features. If you purchased version 1.0, you will be able to do an in-app purchase for the new features at a discount.

  • [FIX] Avid DNxHD and DNxHR files can now be opened. The issue with the codec bug when viewing alpha channels remains.

  • [FIX] QuickTime files that have been rotated for portrait mode (i.e. old iPhone 3G/3GS SD format), now display at correct size.

  • Pro Player is now free to download with in-app purchase to enable extended features.
  • Added support for audio files.
  • Changed UI for listing video, audio and timecode tracks in the current file.
  • Audio tracks can now be muted and soloed.
  • Added buttons for "Reveal in Finder" and "Reset Playback Settings".
  • Added Jump Forward button (keyboard shortcut = N).
  • Added Extra Jump Back/Forward (15 seconds by default) which can be accessed by Shift-clicking on the buttons or pressing Shift-B/N.
  • The current frame image can now be copied to the clipboard by choosing Edit > Copy or pressing Command-C.
  • Time display can now be directly selected for the current file (buttons, View menu or Option-1/2/3) between timecode (if track exists), absolute time and frames (for video files only). Preferences have been changed to allow a default display mode which can be overridden on each opened file.
  • Added tooltip when hovering over the filename that shows the location of the current file.
  • Added Browser/Player modes (keyboard shortcut = Tab), menu item and button. This shows Favorite Folders* on the left, Desktop* in the middle and Recent Files list on the right.
  • Recent Files are now shown as a vertical list of interactive thumbnails.
  • Added ability to add Favorite Folders which allows direct access to media files from within Pro Player.
  • Added Desktop area in Browser screen for freeform organization of files with interactive thumbnails.
