  • Prizmo 4.3 brings dithering processing for black and white images in PDF exports, compatibility with macOS Monterey & various bug fixes and improvements.
  • Prizmo now makes use of dithering (image regions) when exporting to black & white PDF, such that the density of black dots in the new image approximates the average gray-level in the original picture. This improves the overall quality of exported PDF, while preserving a small file size (ideal for archiving).

  • Prizmo 4.2 requires macOS 10.13+.
  • Prizmo 4.2 brings support for Apple OCR (macOS 10.15 required). Apple OCR provides superior accuracy & performance. macOS 10.15 supports English and macOS 11 totals 8 languages (English, Simplified & Traditional Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish). Other languages (28 in total) are still processed with the alternative high-performance on-device OCR with machine learning.
  • Added the ability to disable the OCR for specific pages.
  • Fine-grained OCR text polarity detection that allows to automatically detect text contents with different contrasts in a same page.

  • Prizmo 4.2 brings an improved regions reordering workflow that allows to automatically guess the regions order based on the layout or to partially reorder some regions.

  • Support for Continuity Camera: Prizmo now lets you use your iPhone like a direct capture device as an additional capture option. Just click the “Shoot with iPhone” button in a Prizmo document (or the + button), that will wake up your iPhone in camera mode, and the shot image will be automatically added to the Prizmo document. Continuity Camera requires macOS 10.14 and iOS 12, devices must be logged into the same iCloud account, and they should be on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Improved handling of clipboard types, with support of more diverse image input types.

  • New: Page cleanup: page can be cleaned up (previously known as normalize) to remove uneven lighting or texture. Specific gray cleanup (maximize contrast) or color cleanup (preserve color information) can be chosen. Gray cleanup works well for document taken on the go, while color cleanup is appropriate for whiteboard images written with color pens. Cleanup can now also be activated automatically from the advanced preferences for camera images.
  • Page thumbnails are now preserved as part of the document for faster document opening.
  • Screen grabbing formatting option: you can now decide to preserve line breaks (for source code for instance), or instead to make a continuous text
  • Screen grabbing now automatically recognizes negative input images (bright text on dark background). Ideal to get code from WWDC slides.
  • Default export type is now PDF for text documents, and preserved for the next export.
  • Export services can now be removed from the export palette in Prizmo preferences if not needed.
  • Pro Pack only: In Automator, Prizmo action can now use Automator variables for output file name.
