  • Scripting: You can now use NSDistributedNotificationCenter to listen for “com.dangercove.Porthole.SpeakerStateChanged”. Porthole posts a notification when a speaker appears/disappears/connects/disconnects and when the computer speaker is toggled.

  • New feature: volume adjustments per speaker! The volume keys on your keyboard are still the main method to change to volume, but you can go into Preferences → Volume and apply adjustments to individual speakers. This means that while the main volume might be at 7, one speaker can be at 5 and another at 9. Increasing the volume with 1 wil set the main volume to 8, the one speaker to 6 and the other to 10 etc. To learn more about this, consult the quickstart guide. Adjustments are saved automatically.
  • I added a Crash Reporter. When Porthole crashes, it will ask you to submit a report on the next start. Send it to me, so I can take a look at it and hopefully fix it.
  • Various interface and code tweaks.

  • You can now choose to use a monochrome menu bar icon, instead of the blue one!

  • This update restores the ability to connect to password protected Apple TV's running software version 6.x.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused Porthole to crash when the Hotkey Panel was used and the Mac entered sleep mode on one WiFi network and awoke on another.

  • This update fixes a bug that caused newer AirPlay devices to take a while before outputting sound after the first connection attempt.
  • It also greatly improves stability during unexpected network disconnects and interruptions.

  • Your Apple TV is silent no more! This update makes Porthole compatible with Apple TVs running firmware version 6.0.
