  • Fixes some bugs with multiple devices being connected. Some folks reported issues with loading their iTunes databases; this has be fixed as well.

New in Phone to Mac 4.4 (Mar 13, 2012)

  • Overhauls the SMS (text message) section of the program. The SMS back-end has now been patched up to work smoothly with iOS 5 and older devices and the SMS user interface has been greatly improved. In addition to general aesthetic improvements, you can also view and export images sent thru SMS and the "Emoji" symbols are displayed properly. If you want to save an entire conversation, we've added two more export options: SMS to .csv and SMS to .rtf. Saving to an rtf file includes the pictures and attachments that were sent in the SMS.
  • In addition to many other minor bug fixes and UI updates, Phone to Mac's voicemail section has also had the UI updated.

  • iMessages in the iTunes Backups were not getting read in correctly. They should now show up correctly.

  • A major update from the previous version of Pod to Mac and includes:
  • A huge reworking of the Pod to Mac back-end code.
  • Significant UI updates including new icons, buttons, status screen, layout and cholor scheme.
  • Context menus (or right-click menus) have been added to the media tab (music and videos) and also to the photo tab. These context menus provide additional track and playlist transfer options. The photos context menu allows users to easily copy files to the clip board or open them with preview.
  • You can now disable iTunes track matching in the preferences menu.
  • File access to the iOS device is now bottlenecked and now Pod to Mac will only access one file at a time on an iOS device. This improves the stability of the program for some users.
  • And lots of little things here and there...

  • Numerous bugs have been fixed and several features have been added.
  • Automatic disk-mode hijacking, a feature which switches iPods into disk mode as soon as they are connected to the computer so users can avoid the dangerous "Sync" steps in iTunes typically required to enable disk mode.
  • Real-time iPod unloading has been added and now lets you swap between multiple iPods without having to restart the program (this feature existed before for iPhones, but now works on all iPods).
  • A bug causing tracks to transfer as read-only has been resolved and now playcounts and more are being recovered 100% of the time (in internal tests).
  • Several other bug fixes have been added.

  • Track preview features have been added.
  • "Continuous Play" and "Shuffle" modes are now available.
  • Additionally, the 'Now Playing' title in the top center of the App can be clicked to see which playlist is being played.
  • If you have any difficulties with the track previews not functioning properly, then check your Apple's System Preferences for Perian (an application that interacts with quicktime).
  • If you are using an older release of Perian, than it may cause issues with the track previews so please make sure it's up to date.

  • The Automatic Transfer button has now been created and is fully function in Pod to Mac. This button will transfer all for your music, then all of your playlists so you can rebuild your entire iTunes library with the click of a button.
  • Music is now also transferred to the directory Documents/Pod to Mac Transfers.

  • "Transfer to Desktop" - This button allows users to transfer files to their computer without using iTunes. This may be especially helpful in cases where iTunes was previously interfering with the transfer.
  • Updated iTunes interface code may prevent some previous bugs from occurring.
