  • Planbook now shows you exactly where your lessons will publish when using MobileMe based on your path and username. It will inform you when a path is invalid.
  • You may now publish to the default "Sites" folder on your iDisk or to the "Web/Sites" folder if you would like. This will help users stay consistent with their webpages and also allows publishing for users who need to use the web.me.com address.
  • Your users are now redirected to the current month (if possible) when visiting your published plans. Please note that you must republish for users to be redirected to the next month after a new month starts (for example, Sept 30th-->Oct. 1).
  • You can now change the font size in the Weekly Print Report.
  • Using the preferences, you can now choose to have the course name displayed at the top of every lesson that has information. Previously, the course name could only be seen when no information had been entered.
  • Publishing issues with MobileMe (especially when dealing with single lesson publishing, or publishing an entire day) have been resolved.
  • When dragging an attachment onto a lesson, the file name no longer displays rather than spaces.
  • Attachments now sort alphabetically in the drawer.

  • A bug that could cause crashes when FTPing files on PowerPC Macs has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused interesting behavior when a file contained the maximum 20 courses is fixed.
  • When you create a holiday on a day that precedes a cancelled day, the cancelled day will now shift forward. This is necessary behavior that ensures the consistency of rotating schedules is maintained should you need to uncancel the day. Otherwise, you could wind up with rotating schedules that do not rotate as expected.

New in Planbook 1.3.1 Build 131000 (Sep 2, 2008)

  • You can now sort your courses by time. This is accomplished using the View-->Arrange lessons by time menu item or the button in the planbook options that accomplishes the same thing. All courses must have times if you are going to sort by time.
  • Course times now show in the weekly and daily reports if you have entered them. You do not need to have times for all courses for the times to show- they will show for only the lessons with times.
  • The daily lesson report now prints the daily notes that you've entered.
  • You can now use a lesson as a template for other lessons in the same course. Right click on a lesson and choose 'Use Lesson as Template...'. You will be able to choose a date range to which the template should be applied. You will also be able to choose the type of day (or day of week) to apply the template. For example, you could apply the template only to Music classes on Mondays from 11/01 --> 12/04
  • You can now drag file and web attachments directly onto a lesson. Simply drag a file from the Finder directly onto the lesson in the main grid.
  • Planbook must create 'spacer' days to ensure that your file starts on the day that you chose. For example, if you teach monday-->friday but start your file on a Tuesday, the first Monday of the year will be cancelled. This ensures that rotating schedules will start on the appropriate day. Previous versions of Planbook allowed these spacer days to be uncanceled or turned into a holiday. This should not have been allowed. This version of Planbook will not allow these spacer days to be altered. Users with non-rotating schedules will not be affected by this as there's no need for spacer days.
  • Holidays no longer show as 'A Day' in rotating schedules.

New in Planbook 1.3.0 Build 130000 (Aug 26, 2008)

  • When deleting courses in a particular, yet uncommon, order it was possible for lessons to become linked to the incorrect course. This resulted in future bumping and yanking operations to cause lessons in one course to jump into other courses. This bug has been fixed.
  • I have also made it so files affected by this bug will be fixed when opened with Planbook 1.3. If your file was affected, you will see a prompt when opening your file asking if you would like to fix the problem or quit to make a back up. If you do not see this prompt your file was unaffected by this bug.

New in Planbook 1.2.8 Build 128000 (Aug 25, 2008)

  • Fixes a bug when removing holidays in certain types of rotating schedules
  • Makes the weekly print report smarter about using space efficiently and adds a slider to control the space between lessons in the report.

  • Continue reading for the list of fixes and new features since Planbook 1.2

New in Planbook 1.2 (Jul 10, 2008)

  • Users with weekly rotating lesson plans are no longer able to mess up their schedule rotation by creating holidays. Holidays shift the rotation schedule and this is not desired behavior for teachers with weekly rotating schedules. You are still able to designate non-school days by simply canceling the school day. This gives you the option to bump the days' lessons to the next occurrence of the course, but does not alter the rotation.
  • A bug that caused issues when wednesday had 12 lessons is fixed.
  • Planbook now is more thoughtful when providing feedback about the number of courses in a created planbook. Planbook won't let you create files with more than 12 lessons in a given day.
  • Creating a holiday always bumps the scheduled courses for that day to the next day. If you do not want to shift your schedule, choose cancel lessons rather than create holiday.
  • You can add times to your courses (Planbook-->Planbook Options menu item). Each course may meet at a different time on each type of school day. You can choose to show the times that courses meet in the main lesson view.
  • Lessons, holidays/cancelled days and daily notes may now be synced to iCal for viewing on your phone, for example. Lessons will be placed into calendars with the name of your course and will utilize the times that you entered for your schedule. You can choose which fields to sync (Planbook-->Planbook Options menu item). The sync is one-directional- from Planbook to iCal and not vice-versa.
  • Users can create cancelled school days using the Options-->Planbook Options menu item. These can be created singly or in bunches.

New in Planbook 1.1.6 (Jun 17, 2008)

  • Fixes a bug that caused crashes when selecting a date beyond the end date of your planbook
