New in Nikon Transfer 1.5.1 (Oct 21, 2009)

  • Support for the D3S has been added.
  • Support for 64-bit versions of Windows Vista has been added. However, the software operates as with 32-bit systems.

New in Nikon Transfer 1.5.0 (Aug 4, 2009)

  • Adds support for D300s, D3000, Coolpix S570, S640, S70, and S1000pj
  • A Date Shot option has been added to the Index pulldown menu in the Folder Naming dialog, opened when Create subfolder for each transfer in the Primary Destination panel under Options is selected and the Edit button is clicked to change the folder naming rule.
  • However, the Date Shot used in this case is not the shooting date recorded in image file Exif information, but rather the date the file was created. Therefore, if the images were captured while the camera’s clock was not accurately set, or if creation date information is overwritten, images will be transferred to a folder named using a different date than the shooting date information stored in image Exif data.
  • A Use subfolder with same name if it exists option is now available when Create subfolder for each transfer in the Primary Destination or Backup Destination panel under Options is selected.

New in Nikon Transfer 1.4.0 (Mar 31, 2009)

  • When the Transfer new photos only checkbox in the Preferences panel of the Options dialog is checked and all image files displayed in the transfer queue have been transferred, the following operations are no longer performed even if these options have been enabled.
  • Disconnect automatically after transfer.
  • Shut down computer automatically after transfer.
  • Quit Nikon Transfer automatically after transfer.
  • Do not add trailing number.
  • When Date Transferred is selected with the Index pull down menu (between prefix and suffix) in the Folder Naming dialog, the following checkbox is now displayed.
  • Do not add trailing number - If the checkbox is not checked, a trailing number of the form “YYYYMMDD_001” will be added as with previous versions.
  • The following two radio buttons (options) have been added to the prefix and suffix portions in the File Naming dialog.
  • Original name+New name.
  • New name+Original name.
  • The following checkbox (option) has been added to the my Picturetown panel in the Options dialog.
  • Add XMP/IPTC rating as my Picturetown favorites.
  • When Verify my Picturetown account in the my Picturetown panel of the Options dialog is clicked, the amount of storage utilized with my Picturetown is now displayed as a percentage of the total capacity available in the Verify my Picturetown Account dialog.

New in Nikon Transfer 1.3.0 (Dec 2, 2008)

  • A function that allows for the creation of subfolders within the primary destination folder has been added to the Primary Destination panel.
  • One of the following options can be selected in the Primary Destination panel:
  • Create subfolder for each transfer: When Create subfolder for each transfer (default setting) is selected, a new subfolder is created with each transfer and named, as before, following the rules applied in the Folder Naming dialog.
  • Choose subfolder under Primary Destination path: When Choose subfolder under Primary Destination path is selected, a new subfolder can be created by entering a name for the folder in the combo box at the end of the Primary Destination path in the upper right corner of the dialog, or by selecting an existing folder, previously used, from the pull-down menu.
  • Don't use subfolder: When Don't use subfolder is selected, a subfolder is not created.
  • Corresponding to my Picturetown restrictions, the maximum file size for a single file to be uploaded to my Picturetown is now 2 GB.
  • Corresponding to Mac OS restrictions, the maximum file size for a single file to be transferred from a camera to the computer is now 2 GB.

New in Nikon Transfer 1.2.0 (Sep 18, 2008)

  • Support for file upload to my Picturetown has been added with a my Picturetown panel in the Options area. Still images (NEF / NRW RAW, TIFF (RGB), JPEG formats) and movies (AVI, MOV formats) are supported.

New in Nikon Transfer 1.1.2 (Sep 11, 2008)

  • Support for the latest Nikon digital cameras has been added; D90, COOLPIX S710, COOLPIX S610c, COOLPIX S610, COOLPIX S560, COOLPIX S60 and P6000.
  • When Delete original files after transfer in the Preferences panel was enabled and a large number of images were to be transferred, Nikon Transfer quit unexpectedly. This issue has been resolved.
  • Operation has been improved so that when Shooting Date is selected from the Group pulldown menu in the thumbnail list area, images can now be sorted in ascending order of shooting date / time with transfer.
  • A new function has been added so that a confirmation dialog is displayed when photos are transferred with Transfer new photos only in the Preferences panel enabled and files, including newly added photos, which have not yet been transferred, are found.
