New in MultiMarkdown Composer 4.4.0 (May 21, 2018)

  • Use additional window to refer to previous portion of a document while typing in a separate section
  • Easily make edits to separate parts of the document without scrolling back and forth
  • OVERHAULED A KEY COMPONENT OF THE TEXT EDITING ENGINE:
  • Improved speed
  • More accurate response to spell-checking, grammar-checking, macOS text replacement features

  • Improved cooperation between “Track Changes” and diacritical characters
  • Improve “Increase selection” and “Decrease selection” accuracy; selects entire paragraph/list/verbatim/table when appropriate
  • Multiple other small fixes and improvements
  • Fix potential crash when opening non-text documents
  • Due to popular request – list items that start with a tab after the list marker (instead of a space) will be indented an extra level, effectively “outdenting” the list marker, and the subsequent text will line up with the first line (easier to see than describe) (NOTE: The first list item must use a “tab” to enable this feature; subsequent items should use a tab for them to align as well)
  • Improved behavior with fenced code blocks — (NOTE: works best when opening “fence” is not followed by a blank line; closing “fence” should be followed by a blank line)
  • Improve TOC HUD accuracy when using fenced code blocks

  • Fix potential bug when handling beamer latexmode metadata
  • Improve file encoding detection algorithm to better match UTF–16
  • Fix issue on 10.9.2 when opening saved document instead of creating a new one
  • When exporting documents, default to last export type instead of MultiMarkdown Text FIle. I can’t promise this always works, but it seems to work in my testing with saved documents.
  • Improved table auto completion
  • Allow customization of marker used when converting to unordered lists
  • Change default preview refresh delay to 400 msec (some users aren’t interested in adjusting preferences and complain when it’s too fast)
  • Fix preview when indenting lists by 5 spaces, rather than 4
  • use updated preview when exporting PDF
  • Transparent document window. Doesn’t work perfectly. This is more of an easter egg for those who really want it than a true feature. But if you set an alpha to the background colors on your style themes, you can see through the window. Works better for the editor than for the web preview.

New in MultiMarkdown Composer 2.6.8 Build 52 (Feb 10, 2014)

  • Don’t change window size when saving in Full Screen mode
  • Multiple small bug fixes with non-ascii characters in labels/headers

  • Ensure that most recent edit is used for printing

New in MultiMarkdown Composer 2.6.7 Build 51 (Jan 27, 2014)

  • This build should fix an issue in 2.6.5 that caused crashes on non-US systems. You may need to delete the preferences to get things working again: http://support.multimarkdown.com/kb/troubleshooting/location-for-composer-preferences-and-settings. Also, there seems to be a problem in OS 10.9.1 (or maybe 10.9 as well) that messes with preferences. You may want to restart before trying to delete the preferences.
  • NOTE: The Metadata HUD has still not been finalized, so it is not included in this build. If you’re interested in testing it, it is still available in the beta release of 2.5

  • Fix bug in ePub export with short image names

New in MultiMarkdown Composer 2.4.7 Build 30 (Sep 2, 2013)

  • Reminder message that Mac OS 10.9 is in development, and therefore not completely stable. Composer is not fully functional with 10.9 yet. For example, Composer is unable to request permission to load images when running as sandboxed.
  • That said, I’m happy to hear about problems when running on 10.9 — I just may not be able to do anything about them.
  • Updates to MultiMarkdown – e.g. inline footnotes

New in MultiMarkdown Composer 2.5 Build 27 Beta (Aug 29, 2013)

  • A new feature — a HUD to make editing of metadata a bit easier for those who want it.
  • Outside of the new HUD, this version contains a few small pending bug fixes, but not much else new. It should also be perfectly stable if you’re not using the metadata HUD.
  • NOTE: One change that may confuse you at first — Cmd-Shift-M is the keyboard shortcut for the new HUD. It was formerly assigned to applying CriticMarkup highlighting. That has been changed to Cmd-Shift-H (“Highlight”).

  • New features:
  • preference to expand Table of Contents by default
