January 12th, 2011· Can't add plug-ins to Jedit X Standard
· You can't add plug-ins, such as JDiff X or JChecker X to Jedit X Standard because Mac App Store does not allow apps that download or install additional code or resources to add functionality. Also JeditAnywhere does not work for Jedit X Standard. (We are now preparing another product, Jedit X Plus, for Mac App Store that contains all plug-ins in it.)
· Jedit X Standard has no free trial period of 20 days.
· On Mac App Store, the payment occurs at the same time you download a product. You can't try Jedit X Standard with free. If you wish to check and try out it before you pay, download Jedit X from this site.
· Jedit X Standard only works on Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later.
· Jedit X Rev.1 works on Mac OS X 10.3 or later and Jedit Rev.2 works on Mac OS X 10.4 or later. But Jedit X Standard only works on Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later.
· Different licensing system.
· As Jedit X Standard has a different program name (Bundle ID) and licensing system to Jedit X, it's considered as an another product than Jedit X. As there is no volume discount on Mac App Store, we recommend Jedit X to download from this site when buying multiple licenses more than 10.
· Different updating method.
· Jedit X Standard will be updated automatically from Mac App Store but Jedit X will be updated with our original method as same as before. We will continue to update both Jedit X and Jedit X Standard in parallel but it may occur some time lags.
· A little different application icon.
· The icon of Jedit X has a green pencil but Jedit X Standard has a yellow one.
