New in EndNote X2 (Sep 3, 2008)

  • EndNote X2 libraries are not backwards compatible with EndNote 7 or lower. When opening a library from EndNote 5, 6, or 7, EndNote X2 will convert the library to the current format and leave the original library unchanged. EndNote X2 libraries consist of both an .enl file and a .DATA folder that must be kept together when sharing libraries.
  • EndNote X2 users who have the language sort set to Korean may lose their database sort settings when opening EndNote X2 libraries with EndNote 8, 9, X, X1. Sort settings will likely default to the first item in the sort list - "System Default" or "English".
  • An online version of the EndNote Manual is provided with this installation as a "PDF" file. To open and read the EndNote Manual PDF file you need Adobe System's Acrobat Reader 4.0 or later on your computer.
