New in ON1 Resize AI 2023.5 16.0.1 (Oct 22, 2021)

  • Retooled Export — We took over 100 suggestions from our users and have rebuilt Export from the ground up. It is the most powerful export and image converter you can imagine. First, presets are more powerful. You can run them right from the file menu and you can run more than one simultaneously. There are more options for everything. In File Type, you can now create DNGs or export copies of the original. The file renaming is infinitely flexible as is the creation of destinations. You can now use multiple watermarks at the same time and use text or graphics for them. Resizing is more powerful and flexible than ever. And finally, you have control over what metadata is written to exported files. There’s so much more in Export, you just have to try it to see everything it can do now.
  • Apple Silicon Native — ON1 Resize now runs natively on Apple Silicon-based macOS computers. This allows you to take full advantage of the amazing speed of these next-generation Macs.
  • Favorites in Browse — We have added a Favorites pane to Browse to help you access frequently used folders more easily. Simply drag and drop a folder you access frequently to the Favorites pane to create a shortcut to it. You can navigate through the favorites subfolder quickly in the Favorites pane without having to worry about all the folders above it.
  • Customizable Thumbnails — Now you have great flexibility over the appearance of the thumbnails in Browse. You can control what is displayed on them, how big the labels are and when they show up. You can choose and light or dark theme, or normal or square thumbnails.
  • Gestures — Zooming, panning, and changing photos is more natural with a smooth, animated experience, with full gesture support on macOS trackpads and Windows tablet computers. Note older windows trackpads may not be supported.
  • Back-up and Restore — Prepare for the worst and recover easily with the backup and restore features. They back up all your work, settings albums, presets, extras. You can use the restore feature to recover from a disaster on your computer or to migrate everything to a new computer.
  • Improved Browse Performance — We all spend a ton of time in Browse. Making it as fast and smooth as possible is a top priority for us.
  • Support for New Cameras — Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5 II, FujiFilm X-E4, Pentax K-3 Mark III, Canon EOS M50 Mk II, Sony a7r IVa, Nikon Z fc, Sony ZV-E10, Panasonic GX880.
  • Support for New Lenses — Canon RF85mm F1.2L USM, Tamron E 17-28mm F2.8-2.8, Tamron E 17-70mm F2.8 B070, TamronE 28-200mm F2.8-5.6 A071, Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (A041), Tokina 17mm f/3.5 RMC II.

New in ON1 Resize AI 2023.5 2020.1 14.1.0.8865 (Apr 12, 2020)

  • Print module — Whether you need to print contact sheets, a wall portrait or tile multiple photos into package prints, the improved print dialog is up to the task. You can easily print individual photos like before, but now you can also create contact sheets with flexible labels. You can also print multiple photos on one piece of paper to create packages like 2 5x7’s or 4 4x5’s. You can add watermarks and even output to files for sending your prints to the lab.
  • Date Pane — Exploring your photos by date has never been easier. The new automatic timeline albums organize your photos by year, month and day. If you are looking for pictures of your daughter’s birthday you can easily zoom right to that date.
  • Map View — View where your photos were taken on a map. Explore photo locations and add location metadata to photos that don’t have GPS metadata. You can even search by location address to find photos quickly, without having to add additional metadata.
  • SmugMug Integration — Sharing your best work to the best sharing platform is now built right-into ON1 Resize 2020. Select photos and videos, then publish them to any of your SmugMug galleries. You can even create new galleries and control the size of the photos you upload.
  • Focus Mask overlay — Now you can view what’s in-focus in our photos easily. The new Focus Mask overlay marks the areas of best focus with green so you can compare similar photos and pick out the sharpest photo quickly.
  • Language Support — ON1 Resize 2020 is now localized into eleven languages, giving many more photographers access to the best-darned photo editor out there. It now supports English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch.
  • Single Image Edit Mode — If you just want to quickly edit one photo, this mode makes getting in and out a breeze. Just drag the photo onto the app (or send it from another app like a plug-in) and it goes straight into Edit. When you are done, just press save and you can pick where and how your results are saved, no need to export.
  • Browse vs Catalog Tabs — We’ve separated fast browsing mode and cataloged folders mode into their own tabs in Browse. This makes it easier to understand how cataloged folders work and hide the stuff that can get in your way.
  • Improved First-Run Experience — If you are using ON1 Resize for the first time, it can be hard to figure out how to get to your photos. Do you browse or import? The getting started dialog guides you through it.
  • Search Enhancements — We’ve added a simple search right to the breadcrumbs bar at the top of Browse. You can also choose which cataloged folders to search, instead of all of them.
  • Faster Browsing of Big Folders – If you come back from a shoot and have hundreds or even thousands of photos in the same folder we’ve made it faster to scroll through them and see thumbnails all the time, less waiting for thumbnails to appear.

  • Dual Mode — Now you can have a second copy of your photos in another window. This is perfect if you have two displays and want a grid of thumbnails on one display and a magnified detail view on another. It’s also great for presenting your photos to a client with a projector or large TV. You can show them photos, zoom and compare without seeing the rest of the application window.
  • History — Full history has been added when you work on a photo. You can see every step of your editing, roll-back and compare adjustments and easily revert to the beginning of your session.
  • Setting Applied Info — Now you can view which modules, tools and filters you have used on a photo, even in Browse. Simply double-click to jump to a setting and adjust it.
  • Master Keyword List — Now you can see every keyword you use in a single, searchable list. You can quickly apply or clear keywords, edit them or delete them. It also supports nested keywords inside of other keywords. This allows you to organize your keywords as you see fit. You can even import a list of nested keywords from other apps Adobe Lightroom. Keywords in general have been improved too. It’s easier to search, add delete and modify them. They are also case sensitive now.
  • Performance improvements — We have been working hard on improving performance when zooming/panning and exporting. You will find a new control in the preference to adjust the preview quality to improve the preview performance. Export is now faster when resizing, exporting individual photos or photos you have already edited.
  • Windows High-DPI — We have dramatically improved support for high-dpi displays on Windows. The scaling of the fonts and controls work much better, especially on 4k displays and laptops.
  • Soft Proofing in Resize — We have added the soft-proofing feature to Resize.
  • Larger range of thumbnail sizes — We have increased the range of thumbnail size, so you can go up to two giant thumbnails all the way down to tiny thumbnails so you can survey an entire folder in most cases.
  • Preview the Resize Algorithm — When using the Genuine Fractals algorithm, you can now preview the resulting quality at 100% zoom so you can more accurately adjust the options and sharpening.
  • Crop preset is remembered — The crop tool preset is now remembered across photos

It's perfect for batch processing small JPGs for your website or large files for print or stock.
  • New RAW Engine — Resize 2017 features the new RAW processing engine from ON1 Photo RAW. When you browse, preview and resize RAW photos this powerful engine is used. It's much faster and maintains better color and detail.
  • Compressed Photoshop Files — When saving out Adobe Photoshop PSD format files, they are compressed to half the size they used to be, losslessly.
  • Printing — You can print from right inside of Resize 2017. Control the paper size, margins and printer profiles for the ultimate print.
  • Open System — Access your photos no matter where they are stored: your computer, your network, or on cloud-based storage services.

  • Tiling Feature - Now you can get large format printing from a small format printer, quickly and easily. The new Tiling feature divides an enlargement into smaller pieces, preparing it for printing on a standard-sized printer. Just specify the paper size and overlap option and Genuine Fractals 6 will automatically resize the image and create individual tiles that are ready for printing.
  • Batch Processing - New in Genuine Fractals 6 is an improved version of the onOne batch processing engine. This allows you to resize an entire folder of images to a consistent size and create up to two new versions of an image. You can control the size, resolution, file formats, name and location, color space, and even add a watermark logo.
  • Texture Presets - Genuine Fractals 6 now features texture presets for common image scenarios so even a novice user can get improved texture control results easily.
