New in Fotobounce 3.9.6 (May 1, 2014)

  • tags on photos now show first initial and last name; or entire first name if last name does not exist
  • when viewing a photo thumbnail or photo in the viewer, the info panel in the right now includes all details about album membership. this new feature allows you to select multiple photos and verify the albums that the selected photos exist in… and either add or delete to those albums from the right hand panel by clicking on the links
  • when you select image order to be by oldest or newest, the order of faces under the Faces tab did not match – that has been fixed up.
  • we now retry Facebook downloads up to 5 times if there are issues with Internet timeouts or errors.
  • album selection via the pop-up dialog has been modified so that you have to click on the arrow to expand a folder. this helps make the dialog more manageable in cases where you have tens or hundreds of albums.
  • buttons on the photo viewer have been adjusted to fit on smaller screens
  • we have taken away some checks during startup where we looked for old versions of the Fotobounce service running in the background… this has significantly sped up Fotobounce startup.

New in Fotobounce 3.9.5 (Mar 6, 2014)

  • Enhancements and fixes:
  • All export options now include face tag info in Adobe XMP format. What this means is that any album, date or face tags you create in Fotobounce are exported along with the images. This data can be read by MS Photo Gallery and Google Picasa so you don’t have to redo your tagging work if you prefer the world’s best tagging product – Fotobounce!
  • There is a new “Export all” option that will export your photos into folders by Year. This can be used for backups and in the future to send photos to Fotobounce in the Cloud. We are modifying the Fotobounce Cloud scanning option to pick up this new tag data.
  • The Quick Find feature (accessed by pressing CTRL-F) now searches photo captions in addition to Dates, Albums and People. So if you are looking for something in thousands of photos you CAN find a needle in a haystack.

New in Fotobounce 3.9.4 (Dec 20, 2013)

  • Enhancements and fixes:
  • Updates to the Roku channel for Fotobounce – if you have a Roku box you HAVE to try out this new feature!
  • An email confirmation edit box has been introduced to cut down on errors with registering the wrong email address.
  • Includes a number of bug fixes to both the user interface and engine. These should make Fotobounce snappier for you!

New in Fotobounce 3.9.3 (Oct 22, 2013)

  • Enhancements and fixes include the following items:
  • We display the original photo thumbnail for any selected face in the right hand pane. This is very useful when tagging unidentified faces so you can see the original context for the photo – especially if you don’t recognize someone.
  • A fix to the Facebook login process made necessary by a change to the Facebook API. People with existing Facebook connections don’t have a problem, but people logging in for the first time will have an issue with V3.9.2 or earlier versions.
  • Don’t forget the new private sharing feature for your photos released in V3.9.2. Select an album, date range, set of photos for a person, or just a single photo and there is a new ‘Post’ option to send the photos to the Fotobounce Website. Upon successful upload you are presented with a link to your photos on our website. The photos are temporarily stored on our site for 30 days and you can use the link in a variety of ways including email, Skype chats, Facebook posts or anywhere else online. By using this feature you don’t have to worry about your photos living on forever on the Internet, but still allows you to share them with friends and family on a time sensitive basis.
