It also provides support for other third-party brand lenses such as Tamron, Tokina, and Sigma for Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Samsung, and Sony cameras.
  • Faster access to images, and refined tools:
  • DxO OpticsPro v10.3’s tools have been optimized both to simplify photographers’ workflow and to boost productivity. A new search engine has been added to the Source Browser to help users easily find and load any folder available on the operating system by simply typing its name.
  • The OS X version also offers a new drag-and-drop feature that allows photographers to directly open a folder by dragging it into the Image Browser, providing quicker access to images. The correction tools have been revisited, now adding greater finesse and ease to DxO OpticsPro. The Horizon slider now makes small rotations easier to perform, and the Dust tool is also easier to use.

  • DxO OpticsPro v10.2 optimizes its tools in order to further simplify the workflow for photographers. The Windows version now offers improved slider reactivity in order to more quickly see the corrections applied to the images; gives immediate access to projects; and optimizes the interface for its Horizon tool. A new “Live View” feature automatically displays each new image as it is added to the current folder — a particularly useful tool for photographers who are working with a camera connected to their computer. As for the Mac version, the reactivity of its settings has been improved when working with a selection of multiple images.

New in DxO PhotoLab 10.1 Build 105 (Dec 5, 2014)

  • DxO OpticsPro v10.1 is now compatible with the Lightroom and other third-party software’s star ranking systems, has improved the speed at which it displays its visual presets in Windows, and has enriched its DxO FilmPack and DxO ViewPoint plugins.
  • This update also allows DxO OpticsPro 10 to support the Canon EOS 7D Mark II and PowerShot G7 X, the GoPro HERO4 Black Edition, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40, and Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
  • Extended compatibility with XMP standard:
  • DxO OpticsPro 10 provides a non-destructive workflow that is totally integrated with Lightroom. Very simple, the process transfers RAW and DNG images from the Lightroom cataloger to DxO OpticsPro for processing, and then returns them to Lightroom in DNG linear format. In addition, extended compatibility with the XMP standard allows users to preserve their star rankings during transfer.
  • DxO OpticsPro v10.1 further extends its compatibility, in that the stars assigned in Lightroom and in other third-party software are automatically read in the EXIF or XMP data. Similarly the rankings assigned in DxO OpticsPro is written in the output files and the stars can be read by other programs.
  • Improved display of visual presets:
  • Having already improved with version 10 the speed of its launch by 1.5x and its loading of files by 10x for Mac and Windows, DxO OpticsPro v10.1 has further increased the speed of its display of visual presets in Windows — up to 3 times faster, with a smoother passage from image to image.
  • DxO OpticsPro 10’s visual presets let photographers automatically apply settings that are adapted to numerous uses cases —Portrait, Landscape, Black & White, Single-shot HDR. Easy to access, they can be directly previewed as thumbnails prior to being applied, thus facilitating the user’s choice.
  • Improved tools for DxO FilmPack and DxO ViewPoint plugins:
  • As a plugin for DxO OpticsPro, DxO FilmPack lets photographers directly apply to their RAW images many analog film renderings as well as various graphic and visual effects. DxO OpticsPro v10.1 gives access to Designer presets, which are creative photo styles carefully developed by DxO to give photos a unique look. These presets can be found in the presets window in two additional categories (color and black & white).
  • The DxO ViewPoint perspective palette has likewise been improved for the Mac version: it is now possible to move lines just by clicking, rather than having to move the anchor points.
  • New DxO Optics Modules available:
  • DxO OpticsPro v10.1 adds 424 new camera/lens combinations to the DxO Optics Module library, providing support for Apple, Canon, GoPro, Nikon, Panasonic, Samyang, Sigma, Sony, Tamron, Tokin and, Zeiss lenses for many Apple, Canon, GoPro, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic and Sony cameras.

New in DxO PhotoLab 10.0 Build 78 (Oct 29, 2014)

  • DxO OpticsPro 10 introduces DxO ClearView, a spectacular new feature that eliminates atmospheric haze from photos. This new version also improves the revolutionary PRIME denoising technology, which offers a gain in image quality of up to one stop greater than the best denoising algorithms on the market.
  • DxO OpticsPro leverages DxO Lab’s rigorous scientific calibration of camera equipment, now including over 20,000 camera and lens combinations. Based on this proprietary data, DxO OpticsPro is able to offer the most powerful tools for processing RAW and JPEG images: unequaled optical corrections, intelligent optimization of exposure and contrast, and preservation of colors and details. Its many presets allow photographers to adapt the processing to suit their tastes, and to bring out the best in their photos in just a few clicks.
  • New DxO ClearView feature:
  • The new exclusive DxO ClearView feature automatically eliminates the phenomenon of atmospheric haze visible in many landscape photos, as well as the smog often present in urban images. Based on a powerful algorithm, DxO ClearView analyzes the color components of each pixel and locally improves the image contrast. The results are spectacular: in just one click, the contrast in the image is instantly improved and faded colors are revived. For expert photographers, the intensity of the effect can be modified so as to adjust the correction to suit their tastes.
  • Improved revolutionary PRIME technology:
  • Designed to achieve optimal image quality, DxO OpticsPro 10’s revolutionary PRIME (Probabilistic Raw IMage Enhancement) denoising technology has been optimized to increase speed, with processing time up to 4 times faster! In addition, the interface of the Noise reduction palette has been improved and provides a larger area for previewing denoising.
  • A DxO exclusive, PRIME denoising technology is based on a thorough analysis of the structure of an image in order to differentiate between noise and fine details. For each pixel, nearly a thousand neighboring pixels are studied to identify the similarities and recombine information. This ultra-high-quality denoising brings spectacular results: textures, details, and color saturation are preserved, particularly in shadows, even in images shot at very high sensitivities.
  • DxO Smart Lighting and DxO Lens Softness optimization:
  • The exclusive DxO Smart Lighting feature optimizes the contrast over the entire image by intelligently adapting to its contents. Improved in DxO OpticsPro 10, it now offers a better rendering in automatic mode, thanks to a more detailed analysis of scene contents. In manual mode, the Selective tone sliders act even more precisely: information that one thought was lost in the dark or burnt zones are better restored, even in cases of strong backlighting.
  • With its perfect knowledge of lens performance, DxO OpticsPro’s exclusive Lens Softness tool harmonizes the sharpness of photos from the center to the edges, giving images exceptional crispness, regardless of shooting conditions. It performs with fewer artifacts and preserves colors better to provide even stronger visual accents. Default color accentuation has also been increased to obtain even sharper images.
  • The power of DxO ViewPoint’s geometrical corrections applied to RAW files:
  • DxO OpticsPro 10 can now integrate DxO ViewPoint’s powerful geometrical corrections. After the DxO ViewPoint plugin is activated, a dedicated palette lets photographers directly correct perspective problems and volume deformation in RAW and JPEG images. The dedicated DxO ViewPoint palette includes all the same visual tools as the standalone application version.
  • Even more comfort and productivity:
  • The DxO OpticsPro interface has evolved once again. The White Balance and Dust Correction tools can now be used in full-screen mode for greater comfort and precision. The image browser has been simplified and the overall design of the interface has been revised.
  • More powerful than ever before, DxO OpticsPro has sped up its boot speed (x 1.5) and much faster file loading (x10) on both Mac and Windows for immediate access to images.
