16 new very-high-fidelity analog film renderings - Perpetuating the legend of analog photography, DxO FilmPack 5 expands its palette with 16 new remarkable films. Adox CHS 100 II, Bergger BRF 400 PLUS, Foma Fomapan 100 Classic, Fujifilm Neopan 400, and even Ilford Pan 100: DxO FilmPack 5 gives pride of place to the best of the black & white films. With Fuji Superia X-Tra 400, Kodak Portra 400, and Adox Color Implosion, films known for their authentic or creative colors are also honored.
In order to perfectly reproduce the grain, the quality, and the style of these legendary films, DxO has followed a rigorous scientific process of taking photos of specific laboratory and real-life targets with the analog film: having the film developed by the world’s leading professional laboratories (PICTO and Arka in France, and Duggal in the U.S.), and then digitizing the images following strict and proven procedure. Because of these exclusive calibration technologies, DxO FilmPack 5 offers a palette of renderings whose fidelity has achieved a new and unequaled quality in the field.
More faithfully-reproduced colors with RAW format - To let photographers apply even more faithfully-reproduced analog film renderings, DxO FilmPack 5 now supports RAW format. This new support allows the software to fully exploit the all of the calibrated camera data, so as to better restore color, and to increase the effectiveness of DxO FilmPack’s automatic Color Protection processing.
RAW format also has another advantage for the photographer: all of the optical flaws of the photographer’s equipment – distortion, vignetting, and chromatic aberrations – are automatically corrected, and DxO FilmPack’s high-performing RAW denoising eliminates undesirable digital noise to obtain the perfect analog film grain.
Even more powerful images, thanks to new Micro-contrast - DxO FilmPack 5 offers a new Micro-contrast tool that brings out relief as well as details in images. Using a multi-scale filter that blurs the details while preserving the marked contours in an image, contrast is visibly reinforced — ideal for increasing the intensity of a landscape photo or giving portraits a strong look, particularly in black & white.
Improved tools for greater creative possibilities - DxO FilmPack 5 has enriched its tools to let users explore new creative possibilities. The Toning tool lets users apply a colored effect separately to shadows and dark tones, thus gaining greater flexibility and bringing greater authenticity to the simulation of historical photo colors. The Blur tool has also been simplified and now offers two new modes: Vignetting, for applying an effect along the perimeter of the image and thus directing attention to a subject; and Soft Focus, for reproducing an artistically blurry effect that is ideal for portraits.
An entirely redesigned interface - DxO FilmPack offers an entirely redesigned interface that is even easier and more intuitive to master. Its new 16:9 format provides even more space for the image for increased comfort when working. The new integrated file explorer lets users choose their work directory, preview the images it contains, and open them directly in the application for editing. Renderings, effects, and settings have been consolidated into a single lateral control panel for quicker access, and their categorization has been redesigned to provide more nuanced selection.

The quality of Agfa Scala 200x and Kodak Ektar 100 faithfully reproduced:
DxO FilmPack v4.5 enhances its selection of film renderings with two new films: the legendary Agfa Scala 200x, a now-discontinued black & white slide film that offers an extraordinarily nuanced palette, exceptional patterning, and a high level of detail, and the luminous Kodak Ektar 100, an ultra-vivid color-negative film with very fine grain.
Thanks to DxO Labs’ exclusive calibration technologies, the two new film renderings achieve an unrivaled level of quality and fidelity. DxO Labs perfectly reproduced the grain, quality, and style of these two films by following a rigorous scientific process: taking carefully-controlled photos with the analog films; developing the photos using two renowned professional photo development laboratories; and carefully scanning, digitizing, and analyzing the developed shots.
New creative presets and richer effects:
DxO FilmPack v4.5 provides six new Designer presets:
Photo 70's, a seventies rendering with soft colors (Essential and Expert editions)
Pure Gold, a carefully-measured sepia gold toning (Essential and Expert editions)
Arkadia, a deliciously red-tinted vintage ambiance (Expert edition)
Delta, a very dense black & white for structured portraits (Expert edition)
Glamour, bluish shadows and unsaturated skin tones, ideal for glamour portraits (Expert edition)

DxO FilmPack v4.5 has also added features to facilitate original renderings: a new Tone Curve tool (Expert edition) provides perfect mastery of contrast and luminosity, and an automatic control that protects saturated colors (Expert edition) lets users preserve textures and details in vividly-colored images.
In addition, frame and light leak effects can now be more accurately adjusted (Expert edition) and toning effects can be applied to just the image itself, or also to the special effects as well (Expert edition).
Finally, DxO FilmPack 4.5’s new Export to Facebook feature lets users share their images via the popular social network. In just a few clicks, photographers can send a JPEG image to an album in their Facebook profile, and even add a comment about it.

Age your images:
Choose from among a large variety of textures such as scratches, spots, graininess, and crumpled paper to give your photos a vintage look.
DxO FilmPack 4’s intuitive controls let you precisely control the intensity and even the orientation of your effects.
Simulate film cartridge light leakage:
DxO FilmPack 4 now lets you simulate light leaks that are caused by accidental exposure of film to light. This effect produces areas of overexposure or color saturation in the form of lines that are parallel to the edges of the image.
Choose the type of effect that you want to apply to your image, and then adjust its intensity and its position in the image.
Make your photos stand out:
DxO FilmPack 4 offers a score of frames - white, black, mat, darkroom, slide, snapshot, glass, old-style paper, etc. - to draw attention to your photos and to give them a unique look.
Reduce the depth of field:
Apply a blurred effect to the perimeter of your image in order to draw attention to your subject. DxO FilmPack 4 lets you simulate the loss of depth of field.
Center the effect on your subject and then fine-tune all the parameters: intensity, radius, transition, roundness, and diffusion.
An even smoother workflow:
DxO FilmPack 4 (Expert Edition) offers a new feature that lets you take snapshots of your image during the course of processing.
You can revisit the corrections applied to an image or use them later for side-by-side comparisons to immediately evaluate the effects of different settings on your image.
Quick access to your favorite renderings:
Find the presets that you most frequently use in the new Favorites tab. Just click on the star icon at the top of the thumbnail of the preset that you want to select, and it will automatically be displayed in the Favorites tab. No more need to keep scrolling through the presets pane to find what you want!
Printing:
Save time by using DxO FilmPack 4’s print module: process your image, and then print it directly from the application.
Restore in just a few clicks all the emotion of art prints, and perfectly reproduce all the settings you’ve applied to your images — presets, effects, toning, etc.
Faster mastery:
Entirely redesigned, DxO FilmPack 4’s user interface makes it easier for you to more freely explore the available renderings and settings, and to master the software more quickly.
The controls panel has also been completely redesigned: a button lets you switch between and display only the controls for color film or those for black & white. The tool palettes have been restructured to group all the correction settings in one tab, and all the effects in the other.

Preset search:
Easily access any of DxO FilmPack 4’s 90 presets by using the new search tool that lets you quickly find the preset you want.
Cropping:
The new Crop tool lets you easily change the proportions of your image by using an adjustable grid divided into thirds (both horizontally and vertically), for perfect compositions.
