May 10th, 2008· Due to changes at globeinvestor.com, the dividend and yield information for canadian equities are now no longer available for fetching by Charting Equities. It can still be accessed by pressing in the 'info' icon related to that equity to launch that equity's web page.
· The second source for the equity information at Yahoo.Finance, however, does not include canadian preferred share issues, canadian income trusts and some common stock equities such as... Bombardier, Jean Coutu Pharmacies, Shaw, Rogers, Astral Media, Canadian Tire,Empire Company, Brookfield Asset Management and Tech Caminco to name a few....on those occasions Charting Equities will check globeinvestor.com for any available information.
· These equities can still be updated but contain no open, bid or ask prices...and no volume, dividend or yield......when highlighted (selected). When saved these equities contain no daily high and low values. To get and save the daily highs and lows for these equities, use the Updating Utility and fetch their history once the business day has closed.
· When adding new equities, one must check them using the 'question mark' icon to the right of the 'Symbol' entry field.
· Both Yahoo.Finance and globeinvestor.com are used as sources for information and equity data. The Info icon will load the Yahoo page for US equities and the globeinvestor page for Canadian Equities.
· Stochastic Charts accompany each equity's graph when available. These charts indicate when an equity is oversold and overbought. Internet connection required.
February 20th, 2008· Four year histories are saved when equities are added to the database when available.
· Histories for previously saved equities can also be retrieved.
· The TSX and TSX Venture Exchanges have added Family Day,
· the 3rd Monday of February as a holiday on which the markets are closed.
