Bugs On The Run 1.7 - Changelog

What's new in Bugs On The Run 1.7:

    August 13th, 2009

    · Replaced the MLTE text window with the Terminal app.
    · With Print Events menu item enabled, Turbo runs 4-5x faster than before, Turbo + 60 FPS runs 40x faster than before.
    · New simulation algorithm is cleaner and more elegant, and results in about 10% faster Hyper speed.
    · Added a new application called Bugs On The Run S (simple) which has a fixed background, and in which bugs only move around without eating, replicating or dying and stay the same number.
    · This application runs significantly faster in Turbo and Turbo + 60 FPS speeds (about 2x), and more than 10x faster in Hyper speed.
    · It has no terminal because there are no events and no stats to report except number of iterations so far which shows on the main window anyway. Also, some of the preferences are inactive in this version.
    · In the regular version you have to launch the unix executable alias instead of the bug-shaped application. Don't delete the app, though.

What's new in Bugs On The Run 1.6.1:

    March 28th, 2008

    · Fixed: this one will really run on 10.4 Tiger, too.

What's new in Bugs On The Run 1.5:

    January 30th, 2008

    · Graphics use OpenGL for super fast hardware accelerated sprites.
    · 30FPS has been changed to better 60FPS without sacrificing speed. e.g on a 2GHz iMac: 5x faster Turbo, 50% faster Turbo 60FPS.
    · faster Turbo Print Events ( terminal's speed ).
    · Improved FPS/CPS display - doesn't show 2 digit precision above 100.
    · Var speed slider has been extended to 1.25 µSecs (800,000 CPS/FPS if / when hardware will support these speeds in the future).
    · No more resource file.
    · Sprites are stored in PNG files and converted to textures with Quartz.
    · Most deprecated functions have been replaced by newer ones.
