    · Fixed a crash when closing documents.
    · Copying slides or audio from one slideshow to another now works again. This was broken in 4.2.2.
    · Fixes for updating FotoMagico to the most recent version.
    · Dragging from the iMediaBrowser to the Storyboard or Stage is now much faster.
    · Badges that indicate which media files are used in a slideshow are nor more reliable.
    · Newly recorded narration is now linked to slides according to the settings in the preferences.
    · Various small fixes.

    What's new in FotoMagico 4.2.2 Build 18361:

    April 9th, 2013

    · Fixed a big memory leak when changing the selection in the Storyboard. This memory leaked caused version 4.2.1 to quickly become unusable.
    · When a movie is too short for a long slide, FotoMagico no no longer automatically changes the slide duration. Instead it visualizes the problem, displays an alert icon and offers an explanation and solutions in the popover that appears when clicking on the alert icon.
    · The about box is now a regular window with a close box, as opposed to a modal window that can only be closed by clicking inside the window.
    · The file format has been updated to be more efficient with external media files in the OS X sandbox environment.
    · Quick Save used to be broken after the user canceled closing a document. It now works again.
    · Make sure that the Stage gets redrawn when everything is deselected in the Storyboard.
    · Fixed a couple of exceptions that could cause inconsistent states in the application.
    · Various small fixes.

    What's new in FotoMagico 4.2.1 Build 18303:

    March 1st, 2013

    · Masks in the Stage are now correctly updated as various options like size, position, zoom, or rotation are changed.
    · Assigning masks via the popup menu now works correctly.
    · Rotating masks used to be weird in some cases. Now it always behaves correctly.
    · The zoom and rotation jogwheels now behave correctly when working with masks.
    · Resizing masks in the Stage by dragging the selection frame handles is now more reliable. Pressing the Shift key keeps a mask centered while resizing it.
    · A mask selection frame is now drawn in blue, so it is more easily distinguished from a layer selection frame.
    · The background and watermark layers are now once again displayed correctly during authoring.
    · Layout glitches in the Stage when adding or removing layers have been fixed.
    · Ducking now respects manual audio fades with custom offsets.
    · Ducking for movies now works again.
    · Custom audio fades are now fixed when dragging or copying/pasting audio to a different location and those custom audio fades no longer work.
    · File size limitations for uploading to YouTube have been removed.
    · Make sure that the system doesn't go to sleep while an export is in progress.
    · Make sure that pressing the spacebar key while we are editing a numeric value in a textfield, actually starts preview playback instead of causing an invalid value error message.
    · Make sure that deleting everything in a numeric textfield doesn't cause FotoMagico to enter an invalid state. Instead revert to the previous value.
    · Made the file format more efficient for the OS X sandbox environment.
    · A bug has been fixed where auto-expanded stacks (slides with multiple layers) in the Storyboard occasionally failed to collapse again when the mouse left the stack. Some users mistook this for an application freeze.
    · Make sure that a full save is performed when the app is quit without first closing a document.
    · The visibility and animation controls now display seconds tickmarks when a single slide is selected. This helps to position the fadein or fadeout triangles more precisely.
    · Various small fixes.

    What's new in FotoMagico 4.2 Build 18226:

    February 13th, 2013

    · Layers can now have a mask, which lets you create interesting special effects. Masks can be animated independently from the layer image, movie, or title. Download a couple of sample slideshows here.
    · Layer opacity can now be changed, thus enabling many interesting transparency effects.
    · Auto Save is now supported, thus freeing you from having to select the Save command repeatedly while authoring a slideshow. Auto Save may be disabled in the Preferences window.
    · Saving is now much quicker than before. Average save times for large slideshows have been reduced from a minute to less than a second in most situations.
    · When resizing a title width, the title now stays centered, which is a much nicer behavior.
    · When an audio track is muted, then any ducking occuring in this track is ignored.
    · If a document window is obscured during fullscreen playback, various animations are now suppressed, to optimize playback performance.
    · Color correction is reflected in Storyboard thumbnails.
    · The ducking percentage textfield is enabled when needed.
    · Sharing for DVD now exports 48 kHz audio instead of 44.1 kHz.
    · Audio fades now sound similar in exported movies and live playback.
    · Got rid of a visual glitch where all Storyboard thumbnails would briefly disappear after saving a slideshow.
    · Got rid of a layout glitch in the Stage when a slideshow is first openend.
    · Many edge case situations that led to inconsistent audio fades have been eliminated. These inconsistent states sometimes also caused failures to share a slideshow.
    · Sharing assistant now warns you when chosen filenames contain illegal characters that could lead to problems down the road.
    · Fixed incorrect rendering of layer opacity, if visibility was restricted to a portion of the slide lifetime.
    · Fixed audio volume of a movie layer, that is not visible during whole slide lifetime.
    · Audio timing is now much more reliable if a slideshow is started somewhere in the middle.

    · Added sharing to Vimeo (only available on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and newer).
    · Added sharing as ProRes video files, which are useful for editing in video editing applications like Final Cut. This option is only available if the Apple ProRes codec is installed.

    · The alert that informs the user that an image file is larger than necessary (and offers scaling it down) is no more explanatory about what is going to happen when you scale down an image.
    · When adding or removing audio at the end of the slideshow, blank slides are added or removed above the audio as needed. This is the same behavior that was present in FotoMagico 3.
    · When changing the in or out points of a movie, the duration of a slide is now adjusted accordingly.
    · Loading and initial display of very large slideshows has been optimized. The currently vivible thumbnails are now loaded much more quickly.

    · Erratic behavior like a failure to save document should no longer occur. Improved sandboxing behavior now lets you add far more media files to a slideshow, before the kernel runs out of resources. So save your slideshow frequently, and should your computer run out of resources, just quit FotoMagico and relaunch it again. Then you can add more media files to your slideshow.
    · Slideshow documents no longer grow larger and larger when saving. Media files that are no longer used will be deleted from the document file.
    · Fixed a infrequent random crash in iMediaBrowser.
    · In the previous version iMediaBrowser would sometimes ask for multiple times for access rights to media files. Now it asks only once.

    · FotoMagico now features a completely new Timeline in addition to the previously existing Storyboard.
    · The new Timeline is an addition to the Storyboard. Timeline helps to finetune the timing of a slideshow whereas Storyboard is best suited to quickly organizing your show. You can transparently switch between these modes at any time.
    · Audio waveforms are displayed in the Timeline view.
    · Editing of audiomarkers is now done directly in the Timeline, which makes the feature much more intuitive to use.
    · Storyboard/Timeline are collapsible to make authoring complex slideshows possible on notebook screens.
    · Popover help in the Storyboard or Timeline alert you to authoring problems in you slideshow and also provides solutions to fix those problems.

    · Audio markers can now also be added by pressing the M key while scrubbing through a slideshow.

    · Editing of audio in and out point is now possible directly in the timeline.
    · Multiple layers of images, movies, or titles per slide. These added capabilities let you create effects that weren't possible before. Each slide can now contain up to 6 elements. All common options like pan, zoom and rotation are available independently to each of them.
    · Each layer (regardless of type) can be faded in/out. Previously this was only possible for titles.
    · Images and movies can now have a border with selectable color and width. This is especially useful for picture in picture effects when using multiple layers.
    · FotoMagico can automatically scale your photos to a suitable size in order to avoid huge file sizes and long loading times.
    · The selected layer in the stage can now be moved with the Cmd-arrow keys.
    · Added a menu item to select the counterpart layer (start or finish) in the Stage.
    · The selected layer in the Stage can be locked (through a menu item). This helps when trying to positioning or zooming overlapping layers of the same size.
    · Template slideshows enhance your productivity.
    · If you find that you are often creating slideshows with the same structure, but different images, this is for you.
    · Create a slideshow, designate some of the images as placeholder items, and save it.
    · When creating a new slideshow, just duplicate the file, and replace the placeholder items by dragging new images on top of the placeholder in the Stage or the Storyboard.
    · FotoMagico is now ready for Retina displays.

    · The standalone player now has its own preferences window, which is shown when pressing the option key while launching the player.
    · CYMK image files can now be used, even though they are not recommended.
    · When a slideshow was started somewhere in the middle of a song, the audio sometimes started playing from the beginning. This should now work correctly.
    · Collapsing a chapter that contains only a single slide no longer produces inconsistent behavior.
    · Scrubbing through a slideshow (by dragging the playhead) is now more reliable as we get closer to the window edges.

    What's new in FotoMagico 3.6 Build 5459:

    October 14th, 2010

FotoMagico now uses the new iMediaBrowser 2 framework. iMedia 2 is a completely new rewrite that provides numerous improvements, amongst them:
    · Supports searching for images on Flickr.
    · The various supported media libraries can be enabled or disabled in the Libraries section of the preferences window.
    · Better, more consitent look and feel throughout Images, Movies and Audio.
    · Choice of icon view, list view, or a brand new combined view.
    · Improved display of metadata and easier Quick Look access.
    · Much better performance than the previous version.
    · Libraries are loaded on demand, which means much less memory usage and CPU processing is required.

    · FotoMagico now adds a new option for audio items called "Linked to Slides". In previous versions of FotoMagico 3 audio always stayed in the same place in the Storyboard, regardless of how the slides above were being rearranged. While this behavior is desirable in some cases, it may be counter-productive in other cases. Sometimes it would be better if audio was linked to the slides, i.e. it would move along with the slides, as those slides are being rearranged. For this reason the author of a slideshow can now decide for each audio item which behavior is desired.
    · You may want to link audio to slides when you have completed a chapter in your slideshow with carefully synced audio. If you then add or delete slides before that chapter, the audio moves along with the slides and everything stays in sync.
    · In other cases you may elect to not link the audio. This may be the case for background (ambient) sound where exact synchronization is not needed, or while you are still working on a chapter. Unlinked audio always stays in the same spot, regardless of how the slides above it are being rearranged.
    · Please refer to the Audio Options section built-in help for more information.
