  • The biggest deal about this update is…
  • Transferring: Now when transferring files (with "Create Unique Filenames" is OFF) it checks if a destination file exists with the same exact attributes and if so it skips copying and just sends it to your DAW. This should make cutting long files like Ambiences using the same files over and over much faster now and safe to turn OFF “Create Unique Filenames” now for PT users “In theory” and counterstrike a Pro Tools bug that they never fixed on their end.
  • Browser: AutoPlay fixed.
  • Libraries Node: Stores/Recalls expander states correctly again.
  • New Library Window Colors fixed that ARC broke.
  • Results List: Extra empty rows that were added to Recorder files fixed finally! That was a rough one to fix!
  • iXML formatting changes made that preserve carriage returns now.
  • Results List Row Height auto-adjusts after Renaming Description now

New in BaseHead 4.2.131 (Apr 15, 2017)

  • This version is kind of a huge deal for us. It's the first time in over 4-5 years that we memory mgmt. re-enabled.
  • The addition to VST made us turn it off years ago and do in all by hand. Been a BRUTAL dark time!
  • In short this means no more random memory leak crashes and Importing crashes memory related are a thing of the past now! plus faster development time for new features..Yay!
  • Other Changes:
  • iXML Tailwriter fixes that use less memory now.
  • Details Panel: Selected records Edit maximum raise from 3000 to 5000 since memory improvements done.
  • Pro Tools: European chars for Swedish, German and Spanish no longer stripped when spotting to Pro Tools. Sorry Asian in China, Japan and Korean etc…it's not possible to do the same cuz the ancient Pro Tools API doesn't support this 8(
  • Pro Tools: Spotting Asian type characters no longer causing an error messaged cuz replaced with "_" now
  • PeekTree: issue fixed that wasn't selecting item in Xfers and Playlist nodes.

New in BaseHead 4.2.99 (Sep 5, 2016)

  • This big change in this version is for upper and lowercase of Euro languages like Spanish, Swedish, German etc…
  • So now if you search for ex. (ä,ö,ñ) it will also return results with (Ä,Ö,Ñ) and same goes for the other way around. Wasn't the easiest task to accomplish and almost doubled the size of the program.
  • Let us know if anything broke in this change cuz the whole Sqlite search engine was swapped out. With the new engine we have some cool features coming that are now possible 8).
  • ALSO! ID3 chunk writing has been enabled again. The memory leaks of this library were finally fixed.
  • Other changes:
  • Offline Renaming: Extra Spaces being added to Front and End fixed
  • Added some startup check on background thread to help some launch staling issues.
  • Renaming Panel: Progress bar added also to this operation along with other fixes
  • StartEnd numbers for regions are now in Seconds.xx format with 2 decimal places instead of Byte number.

  • Libraries: No longer sort during loading cuz it's painfully slow in OSX. Sorting is a separate command to be ran whenever from the right click context menus instead now.
  • Libraries: fixed memory crash if added more than files at once.
  • Options Page "Create Unique Filenames" now works with source files other than .WAV files.
  • VST: All Soundtoys plugins are now % blacklisted. When that company decides to be helpful to fix problems with their plugins we might decide to re-enable them, but they are too unstable inside BaseHead to allow anymore to work.

  • Important!! "Include ID3 Chunk" is forced OFF in this version internally until we figure out what is causing a thread crash. So if you are trying to write files that a are compatible with that "rival" program hold off until the next version. To disabled this feature globally is for your own good…..trust us! 8)
  • Another Default Transfer Path fix
  • Spot to Track with Split Stereo files: fix for extra length add to the end if whole file was selected.
  • "Double Click to Open in WaveEditor" ON was causing double memory release crashes randomly if user was clicking too fast on Results List or Results List Header too fast.
