  • New Features:
  • Added Apps section, user can now add, remove and update Apps like Apache, MySQL, PHP directly from Softaculous Enduser Panel.
  • Added option to close AMPPS directly i.e. without any prompt for confirmation. This option can be enabled from AMPPS Panel –> Options –> Settings–> Do not prompt for message while closing Ampps.
  • User can now open Configuration files in default editor instead of notepad. This option can be enabled from AMPPS Panel –> Options –> Settings –> Open Configuration file in default editor.
  • Apache will restart automatically after adding Domain.
  • All new versions of Apache, MySQL, PHP, MongoDB are added.
  • Ioncube Loader added for PHP 7.1.
  • Fixed minor bugs in AMPPS.

New in AMPPS 2.4 (May 13, 2014)

  • Users can now choose a theme to install on the script install form itself. At the moment this feature is available for WordPress.
  • MongoDB support for 32 bit architecture added.
  • PHP Mongo extension updated.
  • "Advance Settings" option removed and "Checkbox" will be selected by default for adding an entry in hosts file while adding a Domain.
  • More than 16 characters allowed for alias name.
  • Added option in the Softaculous Admin panel to list the installations sorted by domain.
  • Minor theme improvements for Softaculous Enduser panel.
  • Added option in Softaculous Admin panel to Hide the remove directory, database, database user, data directory and www directory while removing an installation. By default users can choose to remove them or not.
  • UI Improvements in Softaculous Default theme to load the scripts menu faster.
  • HeartBleed Fix : OpenSSL Libraries updated to 1.0.1g.
  • Bug Fix : When an error occurred during installation on root of the domain Softaculous failed to delete the files unzipped during the installation. This is now fixed.

New in AMPPS 2.3 (Feb 21, 2014)

  • Softaculous 4.4.3, Apache 2.4.7, PHP 5.5.9, PHP 5.4.25 and 5.3.28, MySQL 5.6.15, phpMyAdmin 4.1.7, MongoDB 2.4.9(Only 64-bit) added.
  • Added a new theme "Modern" which is very flexible and can blend with the user's taste. You can choose the theme from Softaculous Admin panel > Settings and choose the theme as "Modern".
  • The new theme "Modern" loads 2X faster.
  • Naming Convention changed: Softaculous AMPPS is now Softaculous. This is to avoid confusion and to deliver faster Softaculous updates.
  • Softaculous will now generate stronger random passwords for database users created during script installation.
  • Scripts in the Softaculous Enduser panel will now be sorted category wise as per the script ratings.
  • Improved the script packaging API to support more scripts.
  • Added an option to Enable/Disable generating strong MySQL Database user password (Enabled by default).
  • Added an option for sorting domains alphabetically under the "Choose Domain" dropdown on the script install form. This setting can be changed from Softaculous Enduser panel > Edit Settings page.
  • Softaculous will now use the PHP MySQLi extension if available else MySQL will be used.
  • Bug Fix : While Cloning an installation, Softaculous was unable to replace the database settings in the config file of the cloned installation if the file was not writeable. This is fixed now.
  • Bug Fix : The Backup download in Softaculous Enduser panel will now contain the Softaculous backup info file as well.
  • Bug Fix: SQLiteManager will work on PHP 5.5 now.

  • Users can now edit Database Host from Edit Installations page in Softaculous Enduser panel.
  • Added an option for Custom script users to provide their demo URL. The URL can be added in the info.xml file of the custom script package in the tag.
  • Bug Fix: If ONLY Custom scripts are enabled on the server Top Scripts were not loaded properly. This is now fixed.
  • Bug Fix: The Script Demos were not displayed in the iframe due to recent browser updates which did not allow to load content from Non SSL URLs. The demos will now be loaded from SSL URLs.
  • Bug Fix: Script Ratings was displayed on the Top Scripts page even if Ratings was disabled by Admin. This is now fixed.
  • Bug Fix: FTP Users were not added from Enduser Panel. It is fixed.

  • Added Auto Upgrade feature : Now users can choose to auto upgrade to the latest version of a script as soon as it is available. Admin can also control the list of scripts which can be auto upgraded. (Note : This feature is available for selected scripts at the moment.)
  • Automated Backups : Users can now choose from the install form to take automated backups (i.e. Daily, Weekly, Monthly). Click here for documentation.
  • Added Password Strength check for Enduser while installing any scripts. Admin can limit the minimum required strength for password.
  • Clone hooks : Added pre clone and post clone hooks. The guide is available here.
  • Backup Notes : Added option to save a note for reference while backing up an installation. These notes can be used to choose an appropriate backup to restore. The guide is available here.
  • Added a setting in Softaculous admin panel to disable clone.

  • Admin URL of the installation will now be displayed on the Edit Installations page.
  • Now the TOP scripts for the enduser panel can be controlled from Softaculous Admin panel as per the Admin preference.
  • Admin can now display his Custom Scripts in TOP 15 list in the Softaculous Enduser panel.
  • Added check to disallow special characters in directory name while installing any script.
  • In case of scripts with multiple branches, all available versions will be displayed on the script overview page.

  • Check HTTPS connection : If user selects to install a script on the https protocol, Softaculous will display a warning to the user if a Trusted SSL certificate is not found on the domain.
  • Detect real version : Admin can now determine the real version of installation(s) and update Softaculous records from Softaculous Admin panel -> Installations (The records are outdated in case the user updates the installation manually). Here is the guide.
  • When editing an installation in Softaculous, the script version of the installation will be detected and also prompted to the user IF it does not match with the Softaculous records. The user will get an option to update the version in our records.
  • Admins can now choose to prepend a prefix for Admin Username field for their endusers on the script install form. Click here for documentation.
  • Database name limit in Enduser Panel is increased to 15.
  • Bug Fix : While installing any PERL script, the script name was not displayed on the Task List page. This is fixed now.
  • Bug Fix : Softaculous was not able to detect upgrade for installations which contained alphabets in version number. This is fixed now.
  • Bug Fix : Added validation for Table prefix to allow only alphanumeric characters and _
  • Bug Fix : While importing installations which have customized admin folder name (e.g. WHMCS), Softaculous was unable to determine the customized folder name. It is now fixed.
  • Bug Fix : Cron command language string was not displayed on edit installation page. It is now fixed.
  • Bug Fix : While installing custom scripts "undefined" was displayed on Task List page. It is now fixed.
  • Bug Fix : The Group order for Softaculous Apps category in cPanel was not saved 1st time when set from Softaculous Admin panel -> Select Top Scripts. This is now fixed.
  • Bug Fix : Script installation was not allowed if the user wanted DB prefix to be empty. This is now fixed.

We have also added the feature to view the source code of any file in the class package. Users can also download the files/package of the class.
  • Users can remove multiple javascript installations at once.
  • We have made some API improvements. Also most of the packages have been updated with the new API code.
  • Now the default script installation language will be selected as per enduser panel language.
