Finding your way around the Wondershare SafeEraser app is quite easy: the main window is organized into multiple tabs where you can see details about the device currently connected to your Mac, and decide which erasing method you would like to apply.

By default, Wondershare SafeEraser is applying a medium security level when erasing the disk of the iOS device, but via the app’s Preferences window you can choose to switch to a low security level (all data is overwritten with zeros), or to a high security level, which overwrites the data 3 times and is using the DOD5220-22M standard.

Files that have been deleted on your iOS device remain available on the disk until overwritten. Wondershare SafeEraser offers you the possibility to get rid of them permanently by taking advantage of the “Erase Deleted Files” function.

The app will scan the disk for deleted contacts, messages, call history details, calendars, reminders, bookmarks, photos, and so on, and then enables you to erase them with the press of a button. If you choose to erase all data, Wondershare SafeEraser will overwrite all available information, and the device will be restored to the factory setting.
